The Studio was just beautiful! Very spacious and well appointed to relax and enjoy. Absolutely spotlessly clean and well equipped kitchenette. The toiletries were beautiful products and the bed was so comfy! Amazing hosts and we loved meeting the sheep! Great location close to town.

Our visit to Methven was to go to the hot pools, which were excellent. My husband is not comfortable around water, but found the hot pools to his liking. We had a delicious evening meal at the Green Parrot restaurant, which was very well patronised when we were there. Food and beverage prices were very reasonable.

Couldn’t fault this lovely little village.
Couldn’t fault this lovely little village. Friendly people, tidy place easy to access. Great range of places to explore and enjoy, or to just sit and watch the world go by. A highlight for our group (8 70+) was having coffee at Topp Country Cafe. Go there!

We were there for 2 nights in the summer. Our full day was the best. Drove to the river for a look then parked at the race ground and did the piwakawaka and fairy walk. Had a picnic and then went to the tranquility pools.
Loved the pools and walk up bar. 2 hours was definately long enough and if you dont have kids then def do the adult only side.
All this could have easily been a day trip from Christchurch.
Dinner at the Green Parrot was amazing. We had the calamari and mussles and they were both amazing.
Would not stay at the methven resort again though. No pool and no entertainment or access to the shared space.

Methven is a very nice place to visit.
Methven is a very nice place to visit.
the Resort was a very handy facility but dated now. Restaurant & Bar in the hotel were poorly run. Places to eat out were very handy - walking distance. I would avoid booking with booking.com. The rack rate was more than 1/3 cheaper. Felt ripped off. I booked two further studio rooms for family on the spot and they were $110 per night

Methven is a nice little town to stay for a week if you're skiing, snowboarding or mountain biking in the area. There's 3 pubs and a few restaurants and takeaways, plus a couple of supermarkets. Closest location to Mt Hutt. Just over an hour from Christchurch.
Snowden Lodge was the perfect location for our family's ski holiday. The owners are super welcoming, helpful and friendly- it was so neat getting to know them. The lodge is really comfortable with a lovely upstairs lounge and a great kitchen. It is nice and warm with Tim coming early to light the big fire and keep it cosy. The location is perfect for skiing at Mt Hutt and right in Methven which is easy for other activities, dinner and groceries. I reckon this is the best place to stay in Methven!
Basic but lovely clean and tidy accommodation. We had a fantastic time here on our girl's weekend away. We swam in the pool, and relaxed in the hot tub. Socialised in the evening in one of the lounges. We played pool, table tennis, and tabletop football. Tea, coffee, and breakfast too were a bonus. Opuke Hot Pools and the Methven walkway were really close by and the town wasn't too much of a walk either. The staff were all friendly & helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.
We had our own breakfast with us, the kitchen offered two hot plates along with the microwave a a nice fridge, place open shelving to store our dry foods. The whole unit was totally immaculate. The owners were friendly. The motel is a short walk to the new opuke spa pools which we recommend as a couple to visit in the evening as the sun is going down, beautiful.
Excellent location, close to the centre of Methven. Clean and tidy. Very spacious units, suitable for a large group (although we were only 3). Full kitchen with utensils, pots, etc. No grater, which would have been useful. Log fire was excellent. There is a heat pump but it struggled to heat the room in the winter.
Was very quiet, clean and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and clean and the garden area was great especially if you have little ones who need to run! Methven proved to be a beautiful little town with brilliant food especially at the Green Parrot. The motel was a short walk from everything we needed.
Excellent self contained farm accommodation. Has all the facilities required for our ski holiday stay. Short drive to Methven for supplies and eateries & close to Mt Hutt for skiing. Is also next to the Methven walkway which is useful if the weather isn't good up the mountain.
This is the second time I have stayed at Ski Time. This time in the lodge.
Great staff.
So close to town - easy stroll to a number of other places to eat out - you don't have too - Ski time has great food.
Nice healthy breakfast to start the day.
We loved the quirkiness of staying in an old NZ pub hotel. The decor and decorating was exceptional and very well done. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the people, traffic and tractors go by. A truly incredible experience.
Very good location, walking distance to bars, cafes, restaurants and best off all, close to Opuke Thermal Pools. Amazing hosts, thank you Lesley & Warren you are wonderful, friendly hosts. Thanks for a fantastic stay at your motel
I don’t know why this hotel has a poor rating. It is not a true. Everything was fine. Clean, very comfortable bed and new soft bed linen and pillows. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. What more…?
The Best value in money!
The room was clean with a comfortable bed and good shower.
The host was nice and offered us an alternative carpark as the lodge parking was full. We ended up parking on the street though. Just something to be aware of.
The Beechtrees Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, very warm and comfortable and really central to Methven Village. Joanne has been great sorting out the booking - I would highly recommend the Cottage.
They are very nice people. Just telling them what I need and they tried their best to help. Be aware of these room are above a pub, don't expect to go bed early especially in Friday and Saturday.
The place was clean and tidy. Joanne and Hamish were amazing hosts and made us felt welcome. The place is conveniently located in Methven and very close to towm center.
Lovely friendly couple running the motel. Good view of Mount Hutt, walking distance to Opuke hot pools and Methven Walkway. Room was comfortable and warm.
