Our accommodation was very good. Although we had to wait longer than expected.v no swimming pool. No fine dining. No residents bar. A shame. Completely different from last year when we looked over the hotel. The food was too run of the mill. Eat lunch time same menu in evening. Got told off for wanting to look at the residents bar that was closed. There seemed to be a lack of resources. To offer a drinks voucher instead of having your room cleaned each morning, would seem to be the sign of resourcing problem.
Having said all of this the Manager did his very best.
Breakfast was excellent.
The Lakes are our favourite holiday destination. But we would think twice about going back to the Wordswirth , such a shame as we had planned to make it an annual pilgrimage. l

We liked everything about our recent stay. Our classic room at the lodge was superb and had everything you could wish for. The views from the restaurant whilst eating a fabulous breakfast are great and get you in the mood for heading out for the day. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We stay in Grasmere a lot and will certainly be revisiting this hotel.
If for any reason you don’t want to go out for the day your room and hotel offer plenty of facilities just to relax and unwind.

Comfy bed, great shower. The staff were very cheerful, friendly and hard working, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely gardens and conservatory and the breakfast was one of the best I've had.Nice touch with the complementary cream teas and prosecco for some rooms.

Grasmere is full of lovely walks, you don't have to wander far to be in a super stunning surrounding. The walk around the lake is a pretty easy one to follow mainly flat and has a direct path so hard to get lost, but theres definitely opportunities to wander further a field, up into the hills, or over to the caves also from here. The lake is also a great place to paddle board or boat around, it's large enough and not too busy.
We absolutely loved Mathilde's Café at the Heaton Cooper Studio, the food was just delicious and such a pretty shop, great little seating spot outside providing blankets for al fresco dining. Sam Read Bookshop was also worth a look, there are a number of really lovely shops aside from all the main tourist hot spots in Grasmere. We also enjoyed a drink at Tweedies bar which had a lovely atmosphere and be a great place in the summer as it had a lovely beer garden setting to sit outside.

I found the food not to our taste , outragesly Expensive,
very un basic, could not understand why you have dispensed with basic meals,

Had a fantastic two night stay here, everything was so lovely, we felt welcomed and it was a really relaxing environment to act as a base to explore Grasmere. Very comfortable room,.completed to a really high standard. We were even given an upgrade to our room!
The breakfast was extensive to a very high standard or organic products, we mentioned we were vegan and the gentleman very kindly cooked extra vegan options for us. The homemade bread was a lovely touch
Great location. Straight out of the front door for Easdale Tarn and Helm Crag walks or walks around Rydal and Grasmere lakes. The staff were lovely. Dinner was excellent. We were upgraded to a larger room - which was great and had a huge bathroom - with bath as well as shower, ideal to relax in after a long hike. It was warm throughout the hotel, which was good because it was snow outside. This is a good place to stay.
Heidi’s is a great place to stay! location wise you can’t go wrong. We have stayed here previously in room 6 and our stay this time was just as good as previously, the room was spotless and the outside seating area is a great bonus when the weather is lovely, we took advantage of sitting out looking over Grasmere. Breakfast was served in the cafe all the staff are friendly and polite. great place to stay.
The lovely large room with views of the surrounding fells from both the front and back windows. The separate sitting room area. The decor - Quality fittings and Retro touches whilst maintaining the character. Great shower - bathrobes supplied. Enjoyed the breakfast with vegetarian options. Just a very short walk into Grasmere centre. Many Thanks to Mike and his Mum.
Grasmere is a a town that is central in Lake District and really convenient to get to many places and is a charming little town by itself and the property is situated at a convenient but not too bustling spot. I also liked the effort that was put in to use teas and coffees from Lake District producers and also the Herdy Sheep Teaware, really elevates the experience!
We have stayed here in the past and love the location and the quality of food in the restaurant, but just before our visit we found out the hotel had been taken over by the Inn Collection Group so we were worried whether the standard of food would have remained, luckily it had.....and hope it continues.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location just 5 min walk to centre of Grasmere. Used public transport bus stop 2 mins away. Rooms were spotlessly clean & bed extremely comfortable. Good choice at breakfast. Staff very friendly & helpful. Will definitely stay again when visiting Grasmere.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and couldn't help you enough.
We really enjoyed the breakfast as it was help yourself style buffet.
The location was in the heart of Grasmere with stunning scenery.
We would definitely stay again.
Great hotel with comfortable room in a beautiful setting in the Lake District. Fabulous breakfast. The pub serves good meals with added bonus of music on Friday night and a friendly crowd. The staff were all exceptional. Easy walk to everything in town.
The location is perfect, right in the centre of Grasmere. The hotel is nice and cosy and modern. They left a little treat for our dog too. The staff were accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was delish.
Great location, with easy access to Grasmere and hiking trails. Fit five adults and all of our stuff, with a complete kitchen for the range of meals, nice dinning room, and a living room looking across the lake.
Perfectly positioned in the center of Grasmere. Great hotel, the food in the restaurant was very good as was the service throughout. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi all good......we will be back!
Close to the center of Grasmere. Beautiful, spacious “cottage” room with a side yard with grass and umbrellas and sitting area. Delicious breakfast. Welcoming, helpful staff.
Breakfast, Dinner and facilities were excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is perfectly located for Grasmere village and surrounding fells. Good value for money.
Lovely traditional family run hotel ideally placed in the centre of Grasmere, with walks from the doorstep, and village facilities for refreshments, shops, etc.
