Fantastic value for money. Great location, near the best noodle shop on the island. Good amenities, basic bathroom but has everything you need. Nice little balcony shared between two rooms, which gave us an opportunity to socialise.

We loved our time at Samed Tamarind Beach Resort so very much - we had a villa with a sea view and it was just marvellous and peaceful. The villas are beautifully designed - with an especially luxurious bathroom! It was relaxing and heavenly. The staff were excellent, and always warm and they helped us with everything like taxis to the pier etc. The food was very good as well. Good breakfast! Samed Tamarind is tucked away in a quiet beautiful beach cove on the island - away from the hustle and bustle from the more popular beaches and shopping areas (all of which are easily accessible, however, should you want to explore, by walking or taxi). The hotel is also very well-equipped and prepared to repel mosquitos and insects and take great care doing so. Even if you aren’t carrying your own bug spray - they provide you with some in the room! You should carry it everywhere especially if you’re there during a wet season.

Peaceful lace to stay with lovely white sand beaches and warm sea which is easy to swim in.
Depending on where you stay on the island, (there are lots of small beaches all good, ) will depend on what services are available. since where we stayed had several resorts we ate a a different one each night. Bear in mind though this is an island and all food supplies etc are delivered from the main land so choices are limited.
although you can hire a Motorbike we found that the taxi worked well for us we did an island tour by taxi but you can also do it by boast. Most beaches have a taxi station. There is only one village in Koh Samed near the main pier.

Limited attractions unlike some other islands I have visited. Taxis are quite expensive but easy to walk to bars snd restaurants via the beach Beautiful island and wonderful beaches but plastic washed up with the tide every day. Helpful friendly people everywhere.
Ferries are very busy especially at weekends.

This is a small island with lots of small beaches, we stayed at one but visited others. We did a half island tour by Taxi. This is a great way to see the other beaches and some of the scenic spots. The taxi costs between 1,000 - 20000 bahts so its best to go as a group to reduce the individual costs/ We also did a boat tour of nearby islands with snorkeling and lunch. Need some energy to keep getting on and off the boat..but a good way to experience the islands.
Be aware you have to pay to enter the island as its national park and to visit other islands there is additional cost so hang on to your tickets if you intend to visit other isalnds.

The beaches were beautiful, and water is clear lovely for swimming. The only disappointment was the rubbish you saw away from the resorts as it’s a National Trust island they should use the money they collect from visitors in making it look cleaner.

The island felt too crowded and too empty at the same time... Felt very tourist-y, even compared to Bangkok. More expensive, a lot of people. Even though it is a "small" island, it is not easy to walk anywhere, especially if staying at a hotel further away from busy location. I would recommend Rayong!

It is a beautiful beach and a great atmosphere.
It is a beautiful beach and a great atmosphere. There where a good mix of families, singles couples. The fire show was one of the highlights from my month in Thailand. It was a spur of the moment trip from the Hard Rock where I was staying in Pattaya. A great place to stay by the way. Sunset was amazing, quaint down town area. Just make sure you time getting to ferry or you might have to wait two hours for the next ferry which was very inexpensive. If you do misss it there is a speed boat always available for 1,500 baht.
Loved the rooms. And the way they were spread out. Staff were all extremely good. Particularly Jee (F&B Manager), Kompak and Anny who immediately made you feel at home with smiles and help all week. No pool, but right on the beach with enough beds and loungers.
The eating area from lunchtime is by the sea and is very relaxing. Service can be a little slow but I think that is just a typical Asian thing. ( come on we’re on holiday and everything doesn’t need to be at top speed)
I would certainly go back to this resort.
I loved that it was right on the beach where you could lay in the bed and look out on the ocean’s beautiful blue green waters. The staff surprised me and my husband with a special balloon and towel message saying happy anniversary as it was our 32nd wedding anniversary. It really made our day! We loved having the balcony and bearing able to view the fire show that performed nightly at the resort right next to our on the beach.
It was the perfect choice. Honestly, everything is perfect: the best location (7 min walk from pier), directly on the beautiful beach (hotel's own space on the beach), right in the middle of night fire shows, 2 minutes to 7/11, lots of restaurants. It's not a hotel providing rooms, it's like bungalows complex. But it's even better. The bungalows are built from wood, simple and natural. It's very, very clean, cozy, beautiful.
Very cute place. Has everything you could need - private room, comfortable bed, private bathroom, 3 minute walk to the one of the more private beaches on the island, free breakfast. So much for such a basic price. Great restaurant just down the street on the beach (Reef Bar) and just a 20 min walk to main beach.
Breakfast had much more variety than expected - eggs, toast, rice, pancakes, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, OJ.
All good. The staff is very friendly and helpful! By booking.com they were sold out for the whole period we wanted to stay and then in a quick call the manager sorted it out and then we could stay longer. The architecture is gorgeous, the hotel is very close to a hidden beach hahaha which is quieter than others but it's fantastic! Their breakfast exceeded our expectations!
the property is actually much better than it looks on picture. Right on the beachfront at a bay with gentle waves. The bungalow is equipped with all the necessities, Food at the Restaurant is quite tasty. They even change the dishes for buffet breakfast each day, so you won’t be eating the same stuff over and over again if you are staying there for multiple nights.
I love this beach and this hotel — every time use it when I visit Ko Samed. Even if I stayed in other hotels on other beaches, I always came here to eat and spend time on the beach. But this time I was fully disappointed :( Also I've came with my big family and friends and the hotel did not live up to their expectations too.
The Thanee is a cheap place and fair for price. The room is spacios and clean. The bed is hard, but we likes that. The breakfast is simple and the hotel has a restorant. We have eaten a couple of time, good thai food for normal price. The beach is very near, but there we have catched sand flyes, be carefull.
I love this resort and stay here quite often. The restaurant is good with lots of great options and it has a beautiful spot on the beach. There are also numerous other beaches on both sides that you can walk to. If you stay here you must also check out Trio Bar which is on the road just around the corner.
We didn’t eat at the hotel as we were only there for one night.
Location of the hotel is right on the beachfront with a little bar and bungalows for accommodation.
Views were stunning and only a short 15/20 min stroll from the pier.
Minnie the owner and her husband were lovely !
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was superb, right on the beach, the pizzas were brilliant, & the bar was open until midnight (most other bars on the same beach close at 10:30pm).
