Wonderful atmosphere in the lobby area with a restaurant and bar. Staff was wonderful to me but abrasive to my companion.

We booked the wrong date by mistake and didn’t find out until we got there! But the place was very well located and looked nice! 🤪
Housed in a building dating from 19th century, this apartment is 1.2 miles from the Pollurinn Hot Spring.

Tangs is in a beautiful town. Isafjordur fit all our needs.
We loved X country skiing wild valleys nearby.
Tangs is perfect for exploring far and wide. Or just hanging out recouping.
The owners are very kind and fun!!
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.

Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.

Our location was in the center of the historic district,...
Our location was in the center of the historic district, which made it easy for walking to everything. I enjoyed the architecture of the colorful houses in the Old Town neighborhood, The Heritage Museum, and getting fresh seafood from Fiskbud Sjavarfangs, the market down by the harbor. My daughter took a boat tour to Hornstrandir Peninsula for a day, but the weather was not conducive for outdoor activities during our stay so that curtailed the activities that we were interested in doing. We had two delicious fish dinners at Husid and an amazing buffet dinner at Tjoruhusid, which is in an historic log building down by the Heritage Museum. You have to make reservations ahead and they have 2 seatings for dinner. I have never seen such a huge variety of delicious soup, seafood, salads and desserts. Isafjordur is a charming little historic town with so many outdoor activity choices for all ages, fun shopping for handcrafted items and great fresh seafood.
Okay guesthouse in Ísafjörður. Stayed a couple of times, before and after trip to Hornstrandir (highly recommended!) (as well as for a couple of days last winter). The place is a cool historic building organised into apartments, with one kitchen and bathroom (generally) on each floor, so shared between 6 rooms. First room we had was tiny, second was bigger but on lower ground floor so people looking through the window/car lights shining in when people parked!
Great central location in the heart of old town but very quiet. The park adjacent was a pleasant surprise and our children enjoyed playing in the garden. Very well equipped and clean apartment with everything you could possibly need. Many thoughtful touches and a well stocked kitchen. The hosts were exceptional - very friendly and informative. Spending time with Gisli was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Iceland, he is such a lovely man.
Great location within walking distance of most of Isafjodur. In an area of characterful old houses. Not at all touristy (yet). The house is old, and the interior staircase is steep and narrow, very typical of places in Iceland. We loved the area and the historic nature of the house. Completely comfortable and well-outfitted, with private garden a plus. Free parking in front.
A romantic cabin modernly furnished in the old town. It was sparkling clean, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped and of good size. The location was perfect - close to a wonderful bakery, restaurants and stores. The only downside was the bathroom which was not comfortable. All in all we recommend this place
It has a beautiful location overlooking Isafjordur, with a stream running by, and a sauna. Lots of room for guests, and very comfortable inside with wood stoves on both levels. The history is quite rich, and the owner has gone to great lengths to present how the lodge has evolved from 1929 to its current state.
The check-in process is very easy, you just need to know the 4-digits code for your room and you are set.
The rooms are small but clean. The bathrooms are also small but in very good conditions.
Very convenient location ; you can just walk to visit the old town and go to restaurants.
Perfect location. Walk to town, beach, shopping, bakery, restaurants, kayaking. Quiet neighborhood, lovely old home with very helpful owners. Great value. Highly recommend. It says"apartment," but is actually a 3 floor duplex with washer AND dryer in basement. Full sized fridge.
- Hotel was located in the centre of this small town
- The main hotel is Torg but we were in the older part, Horn. However the room was spacious and nice and we really liked it.
- The dinner and breakfast at the hotel were good.
- private parking outside the door
Central location - walkable to restaurants, bakeries, bookstores, and the water on both sides. Breakfast was good and in a nice dining room. Note there are two buildings. Rooms in older building have no view. Rooms are large and spartan.
Good location, grocery store nearby, gotta take keys from the hotel. Small..ish dorms but good. Big kitchen and living space. Just bring your sleeping bag. Perfect place to stay to explore Isafjordur, pre or post Hornstrandir.
Nice hotel in a good location. But at a very high price, the room is very poorly equipped. There are no bedside tables, hangers in the closet, shampoo in the bathroom. Empty and uncomfortable...
Ww came several times in Isafjörður and stayed at this lovely place. It has a very pleasant garden. The studio is spacious and comfortable. Of course, all is well kwpt and clean.
It was right in town and handy to do a bit of shopping and eat at a nice restaurant. It was like a typical chain hotel. It was convenient to our journey.
