The Abbey was a must visit for us as was the adjacent park.
The Abbey was a must visit for us as was the adjacent park. Nice to have toilets open and clean with no sign of vandalism. And they were free as was the large car park! Nice too that visitors are treated this way. Good cafe in the park at sensible prices. Nearby Japanese Garden an absolute must, and Castle Campbell worth a visit.

Not a big city , nice places to eat, fantastic big country park , near to city centre, absolutely wonderful, donated by Andrew Carnegie. Easy rail or bus travel to major cities, fairly reasonable prices, but don’t use ScotRail app, get paper tickets.you can travel on the buses all day for £ 11.50 pp. by purchasing a east of Scotland day rider ticket, good value. Plenty of decent shops and supermarkets close to hotel, lovely big church and abbey ruins close by.

A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

I HAVE BEEN COMING TO DUNFERMILE FOR YEARS .
I HAVE BEEN COMING TO DUNFERMILE FOR YEARS . THIS VISIT WAS TO SEE EDDIE READER AT THE ALHAMBRA. I WENT TO RAFFLES FOR A DRINK AND THEY SHARED CHEESE AND ONION TOASTIES . I DIDN'T NEED LUNCH. LATER IN THE EVENING I FOUND A WITHSPOONS . VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING STAFF AND LOCALS . GREAT EVENING. IT WAS AROUND 2 WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE HOTEL. YOU WILL FIND A FEW HILLS WALKING AROUND . DRIVING CAN BE A NIGHTMARE IN THE OLD TOWN. YOU SEE MORE WHEN WALKING AROUND ALWAYS PLACES TO JUST SIT AND WATCH . IF YOU LIKE CHARITY SHOPS REMEMBER TO BRING PLENTY OF PLASTIC BAGS .IF YOU NEED A TAXI COLIN TAXIS ARE GREAT.
We had the best week's holiday in this wonderful little hotel. Yasmin and her staff could not have been more helpful.or welcoming. The room was large and airy with a very large and comfortable bed. The shower was good with strong water pressure and plentiful hot water. Limekilns is a great place from which to explore Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrew's. We had some very good evening meals in Dunfermline when the cafe at Coorie was shut. The breakfasts at Coorie were just brilliant. Can't recommend this lovely hotel highly enough
Breakfast was fabulous, free range sausages, bacon and eggs cooked to perfection by owner Brent. Cereal, juice, fruit and yoghurt on offer as well as toast tea and coffee all for £8.50 per head. Although we travelled from Newcastle to Inverkeithing station there was Dunfermline station right behind Auld Mill. Short taxi ride though. Pub 15 minute walk from hotel doing excellent food as no evening meals available though there is a small friendly bar in hotel. I will definitely be back to Auld Mill in near future.
We had a great stopover stay at Auld Mill House Hotel! The owner is an absolute joy to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge of what is happening in the city. He makes you feel right at home! On a tip from him we were able to snag some of the last tickets available for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers as well as see a cool little pub! Breakfast was made fresh and was the best we have had on our entire trip. I’d not hesitate to book a room here again on future trips!
The hotel was very well located within the town centre , and only a few minutes walk from.the alhambra theatre , where we were attending an event . The check in was very good and we were shown all the way to our room by the member if staff. Although we didn't use the dining facilities, the menu looked very substantial, and the dining areas looked stunning .
First class hotel in every respect and great to see at least some hotels are back to full working practices after Covid. To every other hotel out there who is still using tired old excuses for laziness take a look at the Holiday Inn Express Dunfermline for what you should be doing
Massive and modern room, comfortable, quiet and with air conditioning, king size bed. Loved it. The hotel is located in an old beautiful building in the town centre and it has been renovated with high standards. It has a lift to all floors.
We liked that the hotel was just outside the town centre, as we wanted a nice place to just chill out and relax, where the hotel is located there is still plenty of things to do around the hotel there were lots of places to eat.
Dinner was fantastic.
After staying at another popular hotel in Dunfermline has highlighted just how great this place is and how wonderful and helpful the staff are. Cannot recommend enough
Loved the location, not far from Dunfermlinecity centre. Lovely room and shower room. Cooked breakfast is very tasty and staff very helpful, allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours.
Perfect for us after finishing a 2 week trip thru Scotland and having an early flight out the next day. With just one night and having seen Edinburgh already, this was a great place.
Pitbauchlie has always been a great hotel for many years. Gardens are beautiful to sit outside and enjoy cocktails. Restaurant, bar and lounge are excellent food is fantastic.
good central hotel with lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in room. Nice quiet location handy for most things in Dunfermline. lovely breakfast.
