The place is very clean. I like that the baths are private because I am not comfortable being naked with other ladies.

Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere. Exceptional & best onsen experience at the heritage onsen bath. All 3 public onsen are beautifully crafted in old wood and very well maintained with their original status. Having visited many onsen in Japan, their largest bath was truly something that I would never forget. It's also very nice that they have men/women/mix time schedule that balanced both tradition & modern needs.

The air-conditioned rooms have tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags are included in each. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer. The best onsen ryokan we have stayed in so far. We have stayed in countless ryokans over the years, but none came close to Oyado Tamaki. Great food, great water, great location, and great staff. All our needs and request were met instantly. It is such an exceptional place, and we cannot wait to go back again.
