Set in a charming wooden house 400 metres from Ushuaia’s tourist information office, Los Calafates Hotel offers rooms with free Wi-Fi. A continental breakfast is served daily. This was a charming house-based boutique / hostel in Ushuaia. I believe there are 6 rooms, but they have just purchased the building next door and are expanding into it. The property was spotlessly clean, the owners were delightful, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was homemade and delicious; it was a combination of local pastries, fruits, meats/cheeses and eggs. Coffee was tasty. Our bed was comfortable. Each room has its own gas heater. Ours had a little problem and they fixed it quickly. It was a few blocks from the touristy downtown, which we loved - neither too close nor far. The street was quiet and the other visitors very international. Building security was excellent. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Boasting beautiful panoramic views of the Beagle Channel and the mountains, the 5-star Los Cauquenes Resort + Spa + Experiences offers luxury accommodation with a private beach area and tailored... Upon arriving in Ushuaia at 9 am, a short ride from the airport brought me to the hotel, where the staff warmly greeted me and assisted with my luggage. The welcoming touch of hot chocolate set the tone for a delightful stay. Check-in was seamless, and I was invited to enjoy a complimentary drink and breakfast since it was still early. Although I passed on the drink, the breakfast spread was delicious, especially the homemade lemonade. After breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised to find my room ready. Room was spacious and super clean! A quick shower later, I was prepared to explore the area. The hotel's concierge was incredibly helpful, securing a spot for a trip to a Martillo (Pinguin) island the next day and offering tips for my stay. My first adventure was a hike to lagoon Esmeralda. Despite warnings of muddy conditions, the experience was exceptional, with stunning scenery. The hotel staff had thoughtfully prepared me for this hike, ensuring I had all the necessary gear and sandwiches. Returning from the hike, I indulged in the hotel's spa facilities, enjoying the jacuzzi and infinity pool with views of the Beagle channel and mountains. Despite the hotel's distance from the city center, transport (shuttle bus and Uber) was convenient and affordable. Hotel's spa facilities provided much-needed relaxation after my daily long hikes. On my final day, following a recommendation, I hiked to a glacier, enjoying spectacular views and concluding the trip with a delightful meal of local cuisine. Leaving was difficult, but the memories of this incredible journey will stay with me forever. Huge thank you to Ivan, Maria, Milena, Luciana, Antonella, Leonel, Michaela and the rest of the wonderful crew for making my stay unforgettable.

Usushaia itself is a fairly charmless town unfortunately with poor and dirty infrastructure and rampant and inappropriate development but its THE location for accessing Antartica and Tierra del Fuego etc. Its also quite expensive to eat there but that is natural given the cost of bringing everything to that location. There are plenty of places to eat out in and you can walk around the town itself easily enough if you don't mind hills!
Ushuaia is a lovely small city built on hills above a bustling Harbour. The backdrop of the city is a snowcapped rugged mountain range. It is a photographer's paradise. Tierra del Fuego national park is about 17km away. There are numerous boating trips and fascinating museums. It is , however, very expensive. It really feels like the end of the world!
I had to wait in Ushuaia, as I was shipping my car, and it was late. If the outdoors is your thing (and why else would you be here?) then you can easily pass a week or more without running out of things to do. The glacier walk gives stunning views over the Beagle Channel, the Tierra del Fuego National Park has some beautiful, well marked, trails. Estancia Harberton is a great day out. Hiring a car for the day is easy, and relatively inexpensive, and the roads are nearly empty. Take a half-day boat trip to see the penguins. There are museums, for a bit of cultural diversion, and plenty of retail, and eating, options, in the town. If you want to use a card to withdraw cash, the HSBC on Maipu will let you, whereas the local banks won't
It's a beautiful experience to visit Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego national park! The wildlife is very interesting, especially for someone coming from the other side of the earth :) on the other hand, you also need a lot of money here. In my opinion we are not paying for the service we get but rather for being at the end of the world.
The town has little to offer but is an ideal position for a boat trip on the Beagle Channel and walking in the Tierra del Fuego National Park, both of which are fabulous experiences
Tierra Del Fuego National Park and the surrounding areas are simply stunning! There are so many beautiful landscapes to explore. The town of Ushuaia itself is not so special.
We planned our excursions to cover as many aspects of what Ushuaia has to offer. We loved our 4x4 off-road experience to Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano with Oscar ( he cooked a sensational lunch), our trip to Estancia Harberton and Martillo Island by bus and return to Ushuaia by boat on the Beagle Channel, and our day trekking in the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Lunch in the cafeteria Alakush was exceptional value.
Had trips with Tierra Del Fuego Adventura and they were excellente. National Park is a gem, kayaking in Lago Descubierto super, quads off road, have seen penguins and sea lions - had fantastic stay. Ushuaia has everything you need.
Local natural attractions, such as Tierra del Fuego National Park and the Beagle Channel, are a must see. The locals were friendly and helpful. If you're not concerned walking uphill then walking is the best way to get around so you see the city as you walk but I do recommend doing at least one guided city tour to get background on the city history and its people.
Great place to visit. End of the world! Quaint little pretty town surrounded by snow capped mountains. You can see the snow capped Andes range ending into the ocean. It’s 54deg south, Antarctica only 600 miles away. Great seafood. Tierra del Fuego National Park is really beautiful and worth visiting. If you’re lucky you will see whales and penguins
Ushuaia
This was an 2 bedroom apartment in a quiet neighborhood located behind the owners' home. Breakfast was not included; however, our hostess, Gris, came over 2 mornings while we were there out of our 5 days and brought us a basket full of breakfast goodies. We hired her son, Christian, for a couple of days to take us into the Andes. We spent a day exploring Tierra del Fuego National Park and day two we explored the resorts north of Ushuaia as well as some other interesting sights.
If you consider that there is not much to see or do in Rio Grande it's funny that this hotel exists. It was good for the price we found on booking. We were very happy to have the pool of the hotel on a windy and boring afternoon in Rio Grande with two kids. The pool area is really nice and well maintained. Downstairs is a casino which is also a "different" experience of Tierra del Fuego. The staff is nice in a very Tierra del Fuego way...
Ushuaia
so kindful hostel in ushuaia. not in downtowm but worthful. u just knee to know how get there by bus. 1.buy sube card(public bus card) and charge it. take 1 time is $50 2.find google map "IOSFA- Delegación Provincial Tierra del Fuego" 3.ride bus line C (minibus) 4.say "caballo de fuego" to driver 5.fin use localbus app "mi bondi"
I had a great experience in Hotel Austral for three nights. The Staff are super friendly and they arranged for me all the excursions for Beagle Channel and Tierra Del Fuego National Park. The room is spacious, clean and the bed is so comfortable. All what i needed for my stay. The breakfast was good too.
Location and position, Staff, Cleanliness, rooms, everything
Room and facilities, nice staff ready to help
What we like most was the location and the facilities. We stayed in one of the bigger rooms which had a kitchenette and 3 beds... very comfortable beds and arrangements seemed that everything looked spacious.
We LOVED this hotel. Such a beautiful lobby view and the comfiest of beds. Super clean with daily housekeeping. A little bit off the main road in comparison to other hotels but it’s only a 10 minute walk downhill so wasn’t a problem at all. A must stay
Warm and cozy hotel, very nice and gentle staff, superb cleaning and great view of the square. Had some issues with credit card and payment method but they handled it very swiftly. I totally recommend it. 10/10
Ask for a room facing the water otherwise you will be stuck looking at a cement wall with no light. This is a bare bones guesthouse. It has what you need but do not expect luxury. The people are all very nice and welcoming and the breakfast is a nice carb overload treat!
Nice views over the town. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Best bed so far!
Really easy to get to via taxi, the accomodation was really nice with a good selection of teas/coffee. The owners were really lovely and allowed me to store my luggage there even after I left
The lady on reception was extremely helpful and welcoming. Good breakfast, room was clean, and comfortable bed. It was quite hot in the room, even after I worked out how to turn down the heat (I'm Australian and not used to radiators), but this was the same as the other hotel I had in Ushuaia so might be normal for the area.
The main thing is the location, the hotel is in the entire center of the city near the main avenue that allows you to get around easily and quickly wherever you want to go, plus there are free parking lots nearby where you will always find a place to park the car you rented without any problem. . The hotel is beautiful, with many beautiful details and added to that it is a sustainable hotel. The details and the rooms make you feel like you are in a small cozy mackerel, which takes you to the literal clouds, because the bed was like lying on a cloud embraced with another cloud that was the padding, the bed was a paradise to rest in, which Perfect for when you are hiking all day, getting to take a good shower and rest in a cloud that hugged you. This without forgetting that the attention of the staff from the cleaning person to the manager, they have super attention, kindness and service 10 out of 10, a wonderful team that will make you feel like you are on the best vacation, without a doubt when you visit again. Ushuaia I will stay at this hotel again, I recommend it without a doubt!
Awesome location with lake view. Charming staff, very helpful. Breakfast had good variety. We were also pleased with the dinner at the restaurant. Wi-fi in the room worked well.
Gorgeous hotel, very tidy, clean, the food in the restaurant was amazing! Had the best time, so worth it
Staff were really good & helpful when the transportation for our trip didn't show up. Very quiet with very comfortable beds
It was a pleasure to be in Isla Bella. We felt at home and we would come back next time. The breakfast is very complete with coffee, bread, jam, cheese, medialuna, and orange juice. Miguel was very attentive, helping us with questions about Ushuaia and talking about diverse topics.
