Empire State Building

Stretching into the sky at 120 stories high, the Empire State Building was once the tallest building in the entire world. Not for the faint of heart, its observation deck provides a bird’s-eye view of NYC. Dodge the crowds by visiting between 8 and 11 am and snap some photos uninterrupted, with the Big Apple as your backdrop.

    Expensive but worth it.

Expensive but worth it. Staff at the top were helpful and knowledgeable about the skyline. Good exhibition about the history of the building. We went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in August without booking and there was no queue!

Get a city pass with access to the Empire State Building if you can. This will save on the price of entry ticket as well as allowing you to skip the queue on arrival. Well worth it if you are short on time.

Keep in mind that it gets very busy and it's heated during winter, so it can get very hot and crowded inside. I would recommend layering clothes so you can stay an okay temperature during the whole visit. I wouldn't wait for the elevators as it can get very long, you can always grab the stairs up to the viewing points and it's only 6 flights.

The first time I was at the Empire State was in 1966,I was vey young, and everything overwelmed me,you have to visite the Empire State Building, because it was one of the first Sky-scrapers of the city New York-Manhattan.

Be prepared to wait.. In line..for a LONG time.

Be prepared to wait.. In line..for a LONG time. The views at the top are phenomal, it really has a beautiful city scape view, but we spent hours queuing here and it is very badly organised.. There were two queue lines, but everyone queued on one side only as there was no one available to tell us where to go.. Then folks from the very back of the queue decided to go into the other queue line, and skipped past all of us who had been waiting for hours. Very unfair but no-one was on hand to organise the crowd

My maternal grandfather and grand uncle were two Irish workers who helped to build this historic building. I am extremely proud of them for their contribution in helping to build an iconic building. Buy a New York Visitor card - it saves you a lot of money and also you can beat the queues too.

As hotels go, it was pretty basic. But everything was spotless, all the facilities were as advertised and the included breakfast, something of a rarity on manhattan, was top notch. I spent a bit extra to get a higher room away from the city noise and that was well worth it. We were rewarded with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building. We were attending the Big east tournament at MSG and the hotel was perfectly located....Far enough from the bustle of the MSG neighborhood, close enough to walk there fairly quickly.

The staff was great and th3 location was very convenient. We could walk to a lot if popular sites like Times Square and the Empire State Building. And Liberty Bagels! They also had an excellent diner attached to the hotel, Tik Tok Diner. You could always find a table and they had great food.

The location is excellent, only a 4 min walk to the nearest subway station and a 10 minute walk into central Times Square. We were able to walk to most places during our trip. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff were attentive and the rooms were safe. I travelled with my mum but would also be comfortable staying alone if i was solo travelling. Super good price, cleaned everyday and a view of the Empire State Building!

The location is awesome. It doesn’t get any more happening than 7th Avenue Times Square, and it helps that the Sheraton NY Times Square is located half a block from a subway station. Several tourist attractions including Broadway shows, Central Park, Times Square and the Empire State Building are within walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel is very close to grand central if you’re planning to take the train around town easy walk to Empire State Building. It’s a little dingy because it’s old but that’s apart of the charm. the sheets were clean and the bed was comfy. Great view of the Chrysler tower from our corner room

It was a great location to our offices in the Empire State building. Good libations on the top floor bar. Great food options outside the hotel. For a NY hotel it was adequate price wise.
