Pace yourself!
Pace yourself! This is Amsterdam's version of the Louvre -- there's a lot to see. They have kind of a 'greatest hits' exhibition hall that is quite nice and navigable in one visit but if you want to see the other floors I'd suggest going a second day. After awhile it's more than you can absorb. They have a really nice restaurant in the lobby and a cute coffeeshop tucked in a back corner if you need a break halfway through.

There's a fantastic collection of ship models in the basement. Oh, and Rembrant and Vermeer, but lots of other great art. You could spend all day here.
Buy timed tickets online, or walk straight in with a ticket from the museum shop out front. Same price.

Absolutely gorgeous museum.
Absolutely gorgeous museum. Definitely get there at opening (9a) and get a museum map -- it's super helpful and the entire museum is laid out chronologically by floor, area, so it's easy to pick the areas/eras you're interested in. The cafe is a nice stop for a break/snack. Gift shop has nice, reasonably priced items.

Superb collection.
Superb collection. Buy your ticket online in advance, but if you can use your mobile phone, download the Rijksmuseum app instead of taking the multimedia device for €5. They've got the same content.

We were disappointed to pay for a museum that heavily promoted a rare painting by Rembrandt only to not see the painting. The museum had a large piece of electronic equipment in front of the painting that was going to block the painting for 56 days. Just thought that should have been made known ahead of time to visitors during those 56 days.

The hotel is based in one of the Dancing Houses. It is about a 15 min walk to the Centraal Station, 7 mins to Dam Square, 15 mins to Anne Frank’s House and 10 to the Rijksmuseum. It is surrounded by cafes and restaurants of every cuisine. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The room was clean. I liked the very steep, winding, narrow stairs. The hotel has a lot of character and charm. But perhaps the stairs are not suitable for older people, children and those with mobility issues. The beds are extremely comfortable. We slept so well.
Great location, it is walking distance to museums like Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Moco, Diamond, with green areas around. Trams are close by, very easy to move around in different parts of town . There is a lovely park nearby.
The hotel itself is in a very quiet area , AirPort Express 397 stops 5 min away . They have lovely staff, very helpful, and good breakfast variety.
Location was very convenient - direct train to airport and Centraal station and walkable to the Rijksmuseum. Hotel was well maintained, staff were friendly, check in and out were quick and efficient and the room was good sized and sound didn't travel, some soft drinks were included.
It's located in an excelent position, steps away from a nice local market and a major tram stop (line from Central Station to RAI) and walking distance to some of the major attra tions (20 min to Rijksmuseum, about 30 to the Nine Streets or Anne Frank House). The beds are quite comfortable and the breakfast is a welcome addition. It is located on a quiet street, but just a few meters away there are more than one great restaurants to choose from. The beds are very comfortable, too.
Cool staying on houseboat, Walking distance from Amsterdam centraal Station, easy walking to core of amsterdam (Rijksmuseum was furtherest and took only 30 min to walk). Houseboat Anna had small kitchen if wanted to get a few things. Plus is stocked with a few things as well (bonus)
Close to museums (5-10 min by walk to Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh), restaurant bars and supermarket. Metro station across the street, 10 min walk to flower market or 15 min to center (or faster by bike)
In the room there is electronic kettle and fridge. Bed was comfortable and bedding clean. Enough space in the room for suitcases etc. There is possibility to leave your luggage at the end of your stay after check out if your train/plane is in the evening.
This stylish hotel is on one of the outer canals of Amsterdam, not too far to walk to the Rijksmuseum, a decent walk into the central city. It is conveniently located on a tram line from the central terminal, so use that to get to the hotel rather than an overpriced taxi.
+ great location near the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark
+ 24/7 reception
+ bathroom and toilet outside of the room, so no one disturbs you at night
+ coffee in the morning
+ price
Breakfast room has good selection of food and many places to sit. Staff keeps food replenished. Location is very near Leidsplein with trams and nearby food stores and restaurants. Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museums within 20 minute walk.
Great location in city centre. Close to central Rail Station, HopOn-HopOff city tour bus and Canal Boats. Good restaurants & cafes nearby. Pleasant walk to Rijksmuseum and other museums. Generous breakfast included. Helpful staff. Comfortable rooms.

The Rijksmuseum is one of my best expériences and it is always a pleasure to visit this museum
I usually come here to the opera but there are plenty of nice things to do, such as visit museums, do the tour of the city by canal bus; my favourite quarter is around the Leidse plein. The Rijksmuseum is one of my best expériences and it is always a pleasure to visit this museum.
