Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.
Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.
From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Centre, shopping in Cardiff is a delight. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants in which to rest awhile. Those by Cardiff Bay offer particularly pleasant views.
Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre. Another year 2000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and football matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.
Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city centre.
Lovely apartment. Excellent location. The owner responded to my messages within minutes. My only negative comment is the amount of seats in the living room area doesn't cover the amount of guests that the apartment holds. Apart from that I would highly recommend staying here. I would definitely stay again.

I had an evening tour of the City by my friend who is a local. We had a very pleasant meal in the Bay area at the Goggling Squid. Lots of different restaurants round there to suit every taste and budget.
I never realised how magnificent Cardiff is. A Castle bang in the middle, lots of fantastic civic buildings and architecture, loads of history. I will definitely be making a return trip to spend more time in Cardiff.

It's a totally walkable city, and very easy to get around.
It's a totally walkable city, and very easy to get around. Not a huge amount of things to see: the Castle, the Cardiff Museum (Natural History on the GF and art gallery on the 1F, including a room with stunning painting by Van Gogh, Monet, Sisley, Degas and other Impressionists), St John the Baptist's cathedral and Cardiff Bay. A weekend is just right!

Cardiff is an amazing city - from short breaks, to longer stays, there is something for everyone. We only live 15 miles away but stay regularly for the food scene and nightlife. If great choice of food, and live music is your thing, a few nights in Cardiff will not disappoint.

Visited Cardiff Castle seeing the outside of the Cardiff Principality Stadium en route. Cardiff Bay, Llandaff Cathedral, St Fagans, Caerphilly. Castell Coch and a nearby beach. Cardiff offers so much more we did not have time to see in the six days there. We will have to return!
Stayed in most hotels in cardiff, and have to say this hotel is the best, the rooms are quirky and modern, and very clean, the shower was fantastic, the staff are all brilliant, nothing is too much trouble, and Maya on reception was exceptional on the front desk, the food at breakfast was first class, lots of choice, and your breakfast was cooked fresh when you ordered, well done indigo, the best hotel in cardiff, will always choose hotel indigo from now on,
The hotel was very well located. It is literally 10 minutes walk from the city centre and about 20 minutes walk from the Bay Area. The hotel room was a great size for 3 adults and the beds were very comfortable. My son and my husband really enjoyed the pool and gym. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Cardiff.
Overall the property is excellent - in a great location with an amazing view. It is well equipped with everything you would need. I would say that it is tremendous value for money and I would definitely stay again. Private Parking space was great as well. Short walk to Cardiff Bay and similar walk to the city centre.
Secure parking with reasonable charges compared to other hotels and close enough for a walk into the City Centre and within minutes of Cardiff Bay
Booked very last minute, and really happy with everything - lovely breakfast also included with price! Basic selections, but good quality to set you up for the day
I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling with kids. There is a museum for children really close and the neighboorhood is super nice to go for a walk (much morr quiet than the city centre). The rooms are great, specially the beds and the views. There are plenty of restaurants around.
Spacious rooms and an amazing building embracing it's history, Central to Cardiff bay and easy to get into City centre with Taxis and public transport, A fantastic price for the Sunday evening with the cricket in Sophia gardens on too so overall very happy with my experience.
The hotel is in the middle of both Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay so access to them both is great. The room was very clean and the sofa bed was double so a lot more comfortable for my son than other hotels we have stayed at. Super choice for breakfast in the morning.
The location is great, there is very easy access to the city centre, in particular places of interest the museums, the castle and Bute Park too. There is a train nearby that runs straight to Cardiff Bay. A no fuss, dog friendly, clean centrally positioned hotel.
Location was perfect, just outside the city centre. 5 mins walk to CIA, Millenium Stadium, shopping, bars and restaurants. Having free onsite parking was excellent. 2 bathrooms is a great plus. On 16th floor with great views over Cardiff. We recommend!!
Staff members were all very kind and nice. The location was perfect: quiet, by the dock, 20 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from Cardiff Bay - perfect for moving around on foot. The breakfast buffet was rich and tasty!
This is a budget hotel so there are no frills (no kettle, no hairdryer etc) but it was clean and in easy walking distance of both Cardiff City Centre and Cardiff Bay. Breakfast was available and the staff were friendly.
Very convenient location for walking to the city centre and to Cardiff Bay. Free parking. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was also very good. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others and would return.
Clean room with pretty view. Superb location within Cardiff city centre. On Sunday there’s a riverside market right across the street with really cool range of local produce.
Fantastic location for Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay. Convenient parking. Shop nearby if needed.
Flat was spacious, comfortable and lovely and quiet.
