A busy tourist beachside town with plenty of choice for restaurants bars etc as well as the usual holidays shops. The main shopping area is pedestrianised so thats great but for me too crowded and busy, a sort of Spanish Benalmadena without the nonsense, clean, no drinks and no nonsense

Calella beach was very clean and stretches for a few miles before it joins the next resort and didn’t get overcrowded. Nice restaurants and bars and the town is much quieter than Lloret which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend a visit and would definitely go back. It is easy to walk around the narrow streets and along the promenade to the next resorts along the coast. Calella is a lovely traditional Spanish town. More local than tourist. With less choice of food and drink that a lot of other Spanish towns . Great shopping areas and friendly local people . Local beaches but no promenades.

Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city. If you're prepared to travel that far outside the city, then stay here. There are not a lot of activities to do in the area, this place is best for lounging about on the beach or by the pool.

Always a pleasant experience… it is adult only so pretty quiet so bear that in mind but that’s how we like it. All inclusive has little restrictions unlike many places these days… always something interesting to eat hot or cold. Updated rooms are nice with new walk in showers etc and worth the bit extra. And the hotel is spotless, with the owner Paul, his wife and family in attendance in a wonderful caring, but none intrusive manner towards their guests. The rooms are simple, but met our expectations as we enjoyed activities outdoors un used hotel room only for a sleepover. The value for the price in my opinion is exceptional as there were breakfast and dinner included into our room rate. The staff was very friendly especially security guy Jonas that worked during the nights and greeted me with a coffee every morning before I took off for my bicycle ride.
