HORISONT Hotel & Konference, hotel in Aarhus

Located a 15-minute drive from the centre of Aarhus, this hotel offers a 24-hour gym and a lounge with billiards, table tennis, table football and a TV. Mollerup Golf Club is 3.8 km away.

The location of Horisont Hotel & Konference was magnificent: the view over the valley and area is beautiful. The hotel is located very close at some agricultural businesses like Arla. We think - haven't seen it - that this area is crowded during the day, but in the evening, after working hours, there is nobody. This resulted us in seeing deers, rabbits, praying birds! And the sunset was incredible to watch. That was awesome. The room was nice and clean with a beautiful, modern, bathroom. Breakfast was good, there was something for everybody. We think this hotel is primarily a business hotel (which we prefer), so there is not much info regarding touristic things. During breakfast it was crowded with various groups of people, and at exactly 9 o'clock, everybody left for probably a conference. So we and one other couple had the whole breakfast room for ourselves. That was quite nice. And still, there were enough things to choose from and enjoy our breakfast at our own peace. We were with our own electric car. We could charge the car at the parking lot of the hotel. The hotel is also located close to the city center of Aarhus, which is a 10 - 15 minute drive. We parked our car there at Dokk1, which is an adventure on itself as it is a car lift. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. For us, this hotel was just for staying overnight as we wanted to catch the boat at Hirtshals to Stavanger the next day. It's located close to the highway, so that was perfect.

FAQs about hotels in Aarhus

Always Raising a Smile

The City of Smiles, Århus (or Aarhus as it’s now officially known) has been around longer than any other Scandinavian city, so has had plenty of time to accumulate attractions and eateries. Its vibrant music scene and nightlife are popular with Denmark’s largest student population, and the University Park features the excellent Steno Museum and Natural History Museum.

Weird and wonderful artworks adorn the multi-coloured ARoS museum, and artefacts in the Viking Museum are on the site where they were discovered, alongside copies of exhibits from the Moesgård Museum, located in a forest south of the city centre (closed until 2014). At the heart of the neighbouring park is Marselisborg Palace, the Danish monarch’s summer residence.

The botanical gardens are opposite the Old Town, which is not actually the historic centre but rather a colourful collection of half-timbered buildings from all over Denmark, set around a pond.

Shops and pavement cafes line the Aarhus River which enters the sea by the large port which has contributed significantly to the city’s success. Overlooking it are the ultra-modern Isbjerget apartments, resembling peaks of icebergs. Also innovatively designed is the Modernist town hall, and Aarhus Cathedral has the country’s tallest spire and longest nave.

Booking.com’s accommodation options range from beachfront hotels to cheap hostels and apartments near Aarhus Airport.

Lovely city, great size and lots to do for a 4-5 night stay.

Lovely city, great size and lots to do for a 4-5 night stay. We went to a skateboard event, followed by a wander around town and found a great sushi place for dinner with reasonably priced options. Second day we wandered down the pedestrianised shopping street and Salling Rooftop to see the stunning views. Then wandered on to the Latin quarters and stumbled upon a lovely, low-key street market with great vendors and live music. People sitting on door steps and drinking coffees or beers or enjoying an ice cream. Felt inspired and had an ice cream and later discovered amazing Danish hot dogs! Wandered back to hotel to drop off shopping bags and then went to the charming fun fair, Tivoli Friheden. Had fun there, caught a show - realised there was a concert on that evening at the park which explained the up-beat mood. Had a delicious dinner. As we left we took a detour down to the scenic harbour where we enjoyed another soft-ice type ice cream and wandered about yacht-spotting and enjoying the sea-views. Too short a stay - had an airplane to catch. Must visit again!

My first time in Denmark and it was beautiful. A lot of new building projects. A lot of shops and restaurants. A lot of museums. Den Gamble By definitely worth visiting, because there are a lot of museums and you feel like a lot of years ago. Botanical garden is for free, a lot of beautiful plants.

Not as much to do in Aarhus proper, but if you had the means to travel outside there was more to see. Not as visitor friendly as other Danish cities we visited. One full day was enough for the city proper to meander around. Be careful of where you eat, because some of the smorrebord menus were simply fried fish (from their fish and chips menu) on a large piece of bread or soggy chicken salad. Not the Danish versions you might be looking for.

Confusing town plan. Lost my sense of direction frequently. Great range reasonable eating places. Friendly service. Flexible menus. The art gallery was a bit strange. Not much of a B collection for an experienced art lover in other European cities. The shop there was well stocked and presented

This hotel is very comfortable and close to AROS and other places to visit in central Aarhus. It is a short walk into the city centre. It had great beds and for once - good pillows - the best of our trip, and there is all you need such as small fridge, microwave, dishwasher etc. Good bathroom and shower. There is off street secure parking to keep the car safe if you book ahead. The staff were just lovely. It was a really pleasant experience to stay here, and I would definitely come again.

Cabinn Aarhus is centrally located in the charming city. The cabinn chain has a basic model stating that it provides all you need: a bed and shower. The basic rooms are small but you can also get a commodore or captain room which are somewhat bigger. At first we got a room right above the restaurant on the other side of the hotel. The noise and smell bothered us, so we asked to change to a different room, which was no problem and actually across the hall. Cabinn is good value for money.

Everything! It’s the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in a long time, one of the nicest ever! The beds are so comfy I actually miss them lol! The location is perfect for exploring Aarhus, staff are extremely kind and helpful, the on site cafe/bar is also very nice! The rooms are luxurious - they have the comfiest lounge chairs to chill out in and a nice big TV - and the bathroom/shower are great too. We really loved staying here.

I was traveling alone for work, so I had plenty of space. The kitchen is well equipped, easy check-in/out, fast and good communication with the host, fine location to access many parts of Aarhus. A 6 minute walk to free parking but parking just outside the apartment is not that expensive, so I did that most nights.

This is not a fancy hotel, but it’s somehow just right for the price. It’s cozy, clean, and the staff is friendly. Bed was too soft for me. The location is excellent, close to everything. Breakfast is good. The roof was actually leaking causing drips in the breakfast room, but I’m assuming they will fix that soon.
