Bells Beach Cottages - Pet friendly cottage with wood heater, hotel in Anglesea

Set in Torquay in the Victoria region, Bells Beach Cottages - Pet friendly cottage with wood heater features a patio.

What a beautiful little cottage!! It had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. It’s only a short trip to Bells Beach, Anglesea and Torquay. Even better we could bring our dog with us. Super customer service - my husband left his glasses at the property and not only did they alert us, but are also sending them back. 10/10!

Anglesea is a stunning beachside town about an hour from Melbourne and half an hour form Geelong. The beach is the absolute draw card which means the town can get particularly busy during Summer and peak holidays times such as long weekends. Anglesea has an abundance of different beaches and walking tracks as well as a range of native animals and birds. There are a range of coffee shops, gift shops, restaurants a supermarket, pub and bowls and surf club all within walking distance.

    A quiet sleepy place.

A quiet sleepy place. More of a stopover (which is what we used it for) than a destination. However, I can imagine that it would be good for surfers. The beach was beautiful, but the water was cold. Does the 'Southern Ocean' ever get warm? (we visited in Feb)

Anglesea is a very special gem of a place at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road. There are so many things to do - golf and kangaroo tours with drinks or dinner afterwards; stunning beach walks; great dining at Love House in the Surf Club with million dollar views and good shopping in the town centre. Fortunately, having a relaxing and affordable time in Anglesea isn’t restricted by the weather. All it’s missing is a bookshop. But at least there are a number of excellent coffee offerings.

This is a neat comfortable well positioned simple motel.

This is a neat comfortable well positioned simple motel. The swimming pool desperately needs some kind of shade and furniture - nothing whatever to sit on. Plus some hooks in the bathroom please! We strongly recommend d the nearby Coast restaurant for an excellent meal.

The open beach, the saltwater creek running into the ocean, the cafes in the Anglesea village, easy to walk/cycle around so don't need a car once you arrive there, boat hire in river, disappointing that tourist office always closed.

Anglesea is a lovely and relaxing holiday/weekend destination for locals and travelers. Great beaches, trails, food and coffee and shopping options, well stocked supermarket and fruit shop, 2 bakeries and restaurants. We stayed for 3 nights, 4 days, and had a wonderful time, despite cold/windy weather most of the time.

Great location in the centre of Anglesea within a few minutes’ walk of the beach and cafes, and right across from the river. I was pleasantly surprised that the property and facilities were even better than the photos, as this rarely happens! The room (spa suite) was thoughtfully decorated and cosy, not hotel-like, and we’d happily have stayed longer. A few stand outs - the crockery and glasses, art TV, styling of beds and other furniture, pod coffee machine (we didn’t use it but nice perk to have).

Loved the retro charm of this unrenovated but very well designed, lovingly appointed older style home. Two bathrooms are a winner for small groups of adults travelling together; my parents had their own 'wing' comprising a spacious master bedroom with views and a walk-through wardrobe area leading to the en suite. Two other bedrooms, a bathroom and WC at the other end of the house afford privacy as well as comfort. The deck is an absolute winner with views of Anglesea's main beach.

Location is excellent being directly behind Anglesea shops & within walking distance of all local attractions. Reasonably spacious with all of the home comforts one could hope for. Beds were comfortable, bathroom functional & clean throughout the property with the kitchen having everything one needs if self-catering. Use of the garage was handy as well. Plenty of storage for clothes & bags.

Friendly welcome, great touring advice from Reception. Good facilities. Lovely, spacious, light room. Cushions plumped and chopped to a V at the top - stylish touch!! Located right opposite the lagoon. Hotel almost next door has swimming pool, laundry, gym available for use. Beautiful beach 10 minute walk. Altogether a very satisfactory stay. Highly recommended.
