We booked the stay 1 hour before arrival after 4 days on a road trip. Our previous nights had been in rather sterile ‘big chain’ hotels. We had a warm welcome at the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel and instantly knew this was going to be a standout experience. The room was immaculate, with all new furnishings including a very comfy bed, nice hot shower and spotless bathroom. We received an excellent recommendation for dinner and it was 2 doors down from the hotel. Lovely gift shops, bars and restaurants are only steps from the front door. The owners are lovingly restoring this old gal and have done a stellar job so far - good luck with the project!

It's quiet self contained, a chance to do camping in style away from home (we do normally go camping) this was more upper class for us so it was good since it would have been hard for us otherwise being from a different country not knowing the elements and places to go otherwise and was a more cost effective then staying in the canyon since that's the reason we were there.
For a family with 3 kids, there was plenty of space and more facilities than a hotel room, and we felt safe there. Like any caravan, the shower had limited hot water time (5 Minute showers, 20minutes to reheat) in the caravan but there were showers on-site that were clean and had plenty of hot water as well as soap/body wash. There was heating and cooling inside. Some nice restraunts to eat in town and only an hour drive from the Canyon and the drive was not stressful (one road all the way through). They offer wood for fire (when permited for $) and a bbq for outdoor cooking, as well as stove, oven and Microwave and all basic things dishes, cutlery etc needed for your stay. Good internet as well. The beds were firm, so if you like a soft bed you may need to bring something extra to put on the bed or ask (i did not so not sure if there is an alternative onsite) and the staff were wonderful and friendly. We would definitely stay again.

William of course is a great little town or access to the Grand Canyon and of course the railway station for a train trip into the Grand Canyon. Plenty of eateries, taverns and gift stores. Real close to bearizona and(don't forget to check the Internet for discounts).

The Grand Canyon Train was a great excursion and would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting the Grand Canyon area from the south rim, but I would DEFINITELY DISUADE everyone from lodging at that property.
I personally would NEVER, EVER stay at that hotel again so long as I am breathing.
I hope you can garner my(our) extreme dissatisfaction with this property in particular.

This quiet and quirky town is loacted an hour from the South Rim Trail of the Grand Canyon.
We stayed at the Highlander Motel which is only a short distance walk to some great local resturants and bars, gas stations and grocery stores.
We ate at the Cruiser's Route 66 Cafe, I highly rate the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwhich and the atomosphere was that of a true diner.
The locals are great and I hope any one who vists, enjoys Williams as much as I did!

Friendly staff and cute property with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Super accommodating and easy to find with attractions and places to eat within a 3 to 15 minutes drive depending on which business you chose to visit. It is also about an hours (1hr) drive away from the Grand Canyon. Was a relaxing and fun experience.

Williams is a great little historic town A lot of great eating options and the gateway to the Grand Canyon. The pizza place/brewery is great and the Pine Breakfast Restaurant is amazing. The Route 66 Diner has great service but the food is meh. I wish we had more time to spend in actual Williams and walk around to all of the fun shops!

Williams is a quaint little town but still has plenty to do and great food! Bearizona is always a must and right up the street, and there’s also the coaster and shooting range for fun entertainment. It’s also a great location for many beautiful Poot ions within driving range from the Grand Canyon to Sedona, Jerome, and Flagstaff.
Breakfast much better than expected- waffles ( regular and gluten free); scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, assorted breads and bagels and even bean and cheese burritos. Room clean and comfy, with fridge, coffee/tea. Staff friendly and helpful. Location perfect for strolling through quaint Williams AZ ( a zip line down middle of town!). Many nearby restaurants and strong historical Route 66 vibe. Short trip to Grand Canyon. We would definitely stay there again when in the area.
This hotel is about 1 hour drive from Grand Canyon so i definitely recommend it to stay here if you want to visit the Canyon.
The staff was super helpful and friendly.
The room was big and spacy.
There was free parking in the hotel.
And the breakfast was excellent!! Anything you need to start your day full of energy!!
Also they dont keep a deposit from credit card as all the other hotels we stayed in USA. That was a BIG possitive for us!!
we had a good sized room and had good facilities including indoor pool and laundry on site. staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Williams and 10-12 minutes walk from the Williams Grand Canyon Railroad depot. it is also possible to drive in about 70 minutes to the main South Rim car parks at the Canyon. Williams is a nice town with lovely shops, bars and restaurants.
This is your basic hotel room. Didn't use the pool, I can't comment on it. Quiet level was okay even though we were on the ground floor. Distance to the Grand Canyon Railroad depot was good. If you want to walk it's about a 10 minute walk. We drove to the station and there was plenty of parking. We drove to the Grand Canyon from Williams and the drive is about 1 hour plus.
good location in williams (short drive from downtown) and easy access to highway/1 hour to grand canyon. There were 2 large tourist groups (2 full buses) that stayed same night but was still very quiet. Breakfast was a battle for tables but food was good/standard fare and replenished often. coffee and tea available 24 hrs. Front desk staff were very nice/helpful.
Wonderful experience at the Grand Canyon Hotel. It was so great to stay in a historical building that captured all of the charm and history of long ago. The owner was so nice and caring, and I really appreciated all the thought that went into the hotel to make it a nice stay. If I am ever in Northern Arizona, I am 100% staying here again!
We have been going to Williams in the first week of December for over 10 years. We have stayed in tents, trailers, hotels, and rentals. This place was the best. Close to where we needed to be. Warm inviting comfortable. Loved the amenities in the kitchen and the little treats for us.
We are hoping to get this again next year.
5 minute walk to the Grand Canyon railroad station and downtown Williams. Despite the place being dated the shower was redone and worked well. I had a room in the back of the hotel, away from the road, so it was very quiet. I have no real complaints because the price was right.
The city of Williams is amazing and has a lot of dining options as well as cool souvenir shops. About an hour drive to the Grand Canyon. We had breakfast included which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel has a jacuzzi and a pool.
Our the best stay in US, very big room, clean and fresh, they offer morning coffee/tea, absolutely helpful and nice staff, great contact. Also Williams is very nice place focused on route 66 history
Great location, right in central Williams. Warm welcome. We were able to view 4 rooms on arrival and select the one we wanted. Lovely old fashioned hotel with Victorian decor but modern facilities.
Right on the historic route 66, in the cosy little town of Williams.
Williams is a short drive from the Grand Canyon.
The hotel is a basic but very clean overnight hotel. It was perfect for us!
The staff is very friendly, the hotel is clean & well maintained. It is the perfect stop if you are going to the Grand Canyon. The room we got was quiet & comfortable, also big enough.
For the price, it is an excellent stay close to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. Has all the basic amenities and free parking. Williams is a nice little town with many diners etc.
