Wonderful place to stay! The staff is amazing. From the front desk to the concierge! They made you feel extra special at every turn. The free shuttle was one of the best parts of our stay! We saved so much money by not using Uber or Lyft. Greg was great! He was like having a personal tour guide. Kim was also great!
One of my favs was Jerome (AKA: Jamie). Super helpful and friendly! I cannot say enough good things about this place. I am BIG into reviews, and if you are too, trust me. You don’t want to miss out on this place.

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, the Gates Hotel Key West is located off US-1 and 11 minutes' walk to Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden.

The location was good for getting to Key West, only 20 mins away. there is a good size fridge in the room. the view is nice,
but can't enjoy it outside because of the bugs. The Tiki bar is still closed. There's no coffee machine in the room, which really
is inexcusable for me. To pay $800+ for 3 nights and have to go outside to the tiki bar to get coffee, no thanks! You need to bring your own hair conditioner, and body lotion. Bottom line,
I would not recommend . I didn't eat in the restaurant there, but their menu is high priced. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was grungy looking.

I found the office staff helpful and kind.
I found the office staff helpful and kind. The beds comfy and lots of hot water. Water pressure just so so. The patio outside was great. Overlooking the water was great, although it was not good for snorkeling it was good for seeing sea life! My kids took videos of lobster and a shark. Fridge was a good size and very cold. Great location = 30 minute drive to Mallory Square or Bahia Honda (maybe a few minutes less). Room was just a standard hotel room and seemed over priced to be outdated and not offer a microwave to at least heat up left overs. Free tea/ coffee in the morning at the tiki bar was great though. Room has 2 sinks, one for the bathroom one in the room which is great and the internet was powerful. We appreciated that. We appreciated being able to modify our stay (due to Elsa) with out penalty, and will stay again.

I loved our room. It looked like it was from the 1970s. I loved the colored light close to the window. I like the ocean view from the rooms and the fish and baby sharks in the water. ( I didn't get into the water.) This is the cheapest hotel closest to Key West. All the hotels in Key West were extremely expensive at the time of year I visited. I liked the quietness of the hotel and the staff was very friendly.
The view out of the room was incredible and more than worth the stay. You look at an expansive bay with green mangroves with crystal clear water. The grounds have chairs and places to sit. There is great restaurant on the property for dinner. Only 15 minutes drive to Key West.
The staff was exceptional, especially Wayne who was kind enough to let us check in early. It literally saved our lives. Location was pretty good also, about 20
minute drive to Key West. They offered complimentary coffee every morning and there was plenty of parking.
Location, I have been visiting Lower Sugarloaf my whole life. So I try to do things in the lower keys. Close to both Key West as well as the middle keys. The cleaning staff was great and friendly. First day we arived they were genuinely great and got us in early.
One of the coolest old Florida spots in the entire Keys. The views, rooms, and food at South of the Seven were perfection. Loved the pool and nearby waterways as well. Such a beautiful and historic locale!
For our needs the location was good. 20 mins from Key West & 20 mins from Bahia Honda State Park.
Liked the water view, but couldn't open the door without being attacked by gnats. The fridge in the room
Location is great. Close to key west but quiet. King bed very comfortable. Bathroom had some updates. Room was spacious. Many good restaurant options within 10 mi
