Parking outside and lovely helpful staff, we arrived early so went in the bar and as soon as our room was ready we were allowed in (still early). Great breakfast which was replenished regularly. We didn't bother with the pool/spa but we were given all the information about it. We will definitely stay there again.

Pretty much everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having arrived at 11.30am, we were able to drop off our rucksacks and then to check in a little early. The hotel is small, has 18 rooms, and has a funky style themed around chocolate. Our room wasn't huge but it was well equipped, comfy bed, beautiful bedlinen, good shower, tea and coffee making facilities and a big fridge.
Breakfast was exceptional. Served to us and with an eat as much as you want offer. A good range of fruit, breads, pastries, bacon, eggs, cold meats and cheeses. There's also a free welcome drink of your choice and free entry into the chocolate museum, which is interesting. You even get to make a chocolate bar!

Gorgeous city by the sea.
Gorgeous city by the sea. Beautiful blend of the old and the new, from a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel to a modern shopping plaza in the centre of town near the main train station. A definite Parisian feel with lots of colorful sidewalk cafes and shops along clean, tree lined streets. I highly recommend making this a stop on your tour of Northern Portugal.

Viano do Castelo has a nice maritime feel to it with nearby beaches, historic old city center, many good restaurants, and sits below the amazing Santa Luzia Cathedral. One must visit the Cathedral and if daring go up to the top of the Cathedral (mix of elevator and then steps) for the best 360 degree views of the region, ocean and land.

I loved everything about Viana do Castelo.
I loved everything about Viana do Castelo. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the best nights of my life! The people, the decorations, the lights and although a lot of fun was being had, it just felt so safe and welcoming!
The next morning the streets were spotless, everyone wishing you a Happy New Year and it was all in all just perfect. I'll definitely be coming back. In fact I'd love to live there!

Lovely town to stroll around with lots of interesting buildings/architecture, nice boutiques and specialist shops and a good mix of places to eat. If we had stayed longer it would have been worth having a car but for 4 nights it was fine without. (Hotel has a car park)

I really enjoyed staying in your beautiful apartment. It is so lovingly prepared, colors, materials and the design of the room are simply outstanding. As an architect, I appreciated the quality of craftmanship and very high-quality equipment.
Such lovingly designed accommodations are very rare. In addition, there is the very friendly welcome and the perfect location in the center of the old town of Viana do Castelo. A big thank you for allowing me to be your guest.

Horacio is an excellent host, looking after his guest's needs with careful attention from arrival to departure. He arranged for a delicious meal to be delivered from a nearby restaurant and had local wine on hand to complement the food. Not only did he answer all our questions about life in Portugal and gave us recommendations about the best local paths for our Camino Portuguese, but he even drove my companion to the next evening's destination, saving us from an expensive taxi ride.
My stay at Casa Manuel Espregueira e Oliveira was lovely. The location was great for the spring festivities held in Viana do Castelo for Pascoa (Easter) and the gardens at the casa are tranquil and a quiet place to escape. Breakfast was a treat with traditional foods served for the holiday. The owner provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and was very accommodating when I needed help with taxi service and laundry. I felt well taken care of!
What a wonderful place to arrive at after a long, rainy day on the Camino. It was so clean, comfortable and quiet, it was the best sleep I've had since arriving in Portugal. The lady that welcomed me on arrival was lovely and spoilt me for breakfast in the morning. Cafe Catete was just down the road and the very kind South African lady served simple, tasty, cheap food. It was a miserable January day and I was alone there but it was perfect. Thanks!
excellent. I stayed there for 4 weeks, wish I could stay more
* super-clean
* well equipped
* good contact with owner
* no problem to park right next to the building (at least in July 2021)
* 10-12 mins walk to mall & train station, 2-3 mins more to town centre
* (not directly related to accommodation, but equally important to me:) great wind for kitesurfing / windsurfing in Viana
* good WiFi - important as I was working most of the days
Location is absolutely brilliant. In the middle of the historic center of Viana do Castelo. The concept of providing breakfast per room is nice but for guests staying more than 1 night, it would be good to have a bit of variation. We had booked a suite with a private bathroom. The bathroom was small but all one would need was available. However, the light was not enough to, for example, shave properly.
the best best hotel in. Viana do Castelo, I heartily recommend this hotel to everyone, top service, very friendly, super clean, large rooms with balcony, great breakfast included, very central, quiet in the evenings, elevator, public underground car park for 7 eu per day through the hotel pay again at any time
Massages are really good, high quality professionals. Asked for a couple massage (both at the same time) which was not an option but they made it possible.
Restaurant is very good price value.
Sauna space was wonderfull. Bedrooms and the whole hotel feels very new and clean.
It is a beautiful property and room. The staff is wonderful, the breakfast is extremely varied with many items, and the room and bed was amazing. We are doing the Camino and we wish we had booked two nights here just to enjoy the hotel. HIGHLY recommend!!
Everything! A luxurious hotel in a 500 year old building in the center of town. Just perfect for my rest and treat day, walking the Camino. And be sure to take advantage of the excellent food and attraction recommendations.
Very nice boutique hotel. I extended a day. Friendly staff, clean and decent size room. Not much dining options near the hotel. However, very nice hyper market is only few minutes away from the hotel.
The space is very nice, and the location can't be beat. I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast - great way for two pilgrims to start their day of trekking through Portugal!
was very good value for your money had onsite parking and hotel staff were very good
Rooms were spacious and comfortable
would highly recommend this hotel
The owner Bernardino and his family made our visit very memorable. The room was great, location was ideal and Viana do Castelo is an undiscovered jewel!
