I really liked this place - I probably would have stayed longer if it had been available. Compact - with everything you need - good kitchen, piping hot water, comfortable sitting area and a small but adequate outside area with table and chairs - ideal for drying smalls and getting a tan. The bed was comfortable and the linen good enough. Being at the end of the road the house was quiet, with only the occasional noise of tractors in the morning. There are several bars and cafes in the village a couple of hundred yards away. The location is good for visiting historical and other sites nearby. Given its price, I can't recommend this place more highly, and the hosts seemed really nice people, though as my portuguese is virtually non-existent, our communication was rather basic!

Great place for the rest with family or just quite relaxing time. Lost of animals, beautiful interior and nature, very tasty breakfast! But be aware that it's not a 5-star hotel, there are some specific moments as at farm.

All I expected and more. Booked for honeymoon, had a bottle of Prosecco and local patisserie in the room at no extra cost, 5 star staff, the hotel itself being an old Monastery and location makes it perfect for pretty much any occasion you can think off. Definitely will be booking again.

Our lovely host Ana met us when we arrived and immediately welcomed us with a cup of tea. She was a font of knowledge about Portugal and gave us many good tips on where we should visit. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet but not too far from places of interest. We had the use of a well appointed kitchen and Ana served us a delicious breakfast. We were very sad that we could only stay one night.

What a wonderful, tranquil and tasteful place you've created Paula! We are so grateful for all the thoughtful touches - fresh bread in the morning, bottle of wine upon arrival... Mrs G was so friendly and welcoming when we got there despite being a bit late and having been a bit lost. We stayed in the cork house which is just perfect for a relaxing holiday stay for 2, it had everything we needed for cooking simple meals. We loved lounging in the sunshine on the deckchairs, listening to the nightingales singing at dusk, watching the sheep next door. We fell in love with this part of Alentejo! The house was perfectly situated for walks and only a short drive from the beautiful towns of Castelo De Vide and Marvão. We did not want to leave! Really hope we can be back in the future!
