Rich and tasty breakfast and dinner. Remote location and friendly personnel. Beautiful and large lodges decorated with great taste. We could observe oryxes walking in the area from the balcony. The pool area paired with light cocktails from the bar was the best for after lunch chill.

The staff were an absolute stand out, particularly Belinda - they all went out of their way to assist their guests. The rooms were very comfortable and the Lodge is about a 45 minute drive to the Sesriem Gates of the Sossusvlei national park. Breakfast and dinner were included and for a special experience, we were treated to some entertainment by the staff after dinner one night. We were sorry that we had to leave!
Surrounded by granite outcrops and with stunning views and roaming wildlife, Desert Quiver Camp offers modern self-catering accommodation, located just 5 km away from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei....

Amazing cottages. Very tastefully done. You sit in the middle of nowhere, watching the stars and the landscape. Meats and utensils for a barbecue provided at a very reasonable price( including firewood). Amazing ambience and very close to the park entrance

The location was wonderful. All rooms have an unobstructed view to the beautiful landscape. The common areas are spacious and beautiful and perfect for relaxation.
The staff was tremendous. The food was top notch.
We booked a guided Sossusvlei tour, and we felt incredibly lucky to have such a knowledgeable and service minded guide as Natangwe. He really made our experience mind blowing and fun. We considered doing a self drive, but are glad we decided to go on a guided tour.
I went for a sunset horse ride as a total beginner. Thanks to the great horse trainer and TK who arranged the sunset experience (and the fact that I was the only one attending) this became another highlight of the stay.
It is about 30 minutes from the gate. This turned out to be no problem at all.
Situated just 22 km from Duwisib Castle, At Kronenhof Campsites provides accommodation in Sesriem with access to a terrace, a bar, as well as full-day security.

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei.
From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy.
Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too.
I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.

I loved the dunes, but we should have got there a bit earlier in the day for the best photographic opportunities. We stayed at We Kebi Lodge which was exceptional value for money, and I would have loved to stay there for a longer stay.

The road in from Mariental (273Km) and out to Walvis Bay (315 Km) were sand/gravel, and in a poor shape for large portions. Other than that it was a great stay. 2 nights should be a minimum with at least one day to frolic in the dunes.

Accommodation in and around Sesriem and Sossusvlei is...
Accommodation in and around Sesriem and Sossusvlei is slightly on the expensive side for locals and South Africans. However, it is one of those things that you have to see and experience should you be able to travel the gravel roads of this vast country.
Great place to stay, highly recommended!
We stayed 2 nights to visit Sossusvlei. You can view the sunrise and sunset by fire place. Also possible to have balloon fly of sunrise behind the hotel, in the morning we job to the backside and go up the small hill and the view was great, at night, you can have amzing milkyway after 5 course dinner which is sunrising good and fast.
We did not expect this at our first stay in Namibia, it was the best start you would wish for.
The location is superb for easy access to Sesriem gate - 5 minutes. The room is large and airy and has air con which is a must!
We rented the utensils box and made our own food. The box had everything we needed.
The shop at Engen, 5 minutes drive is very well stocked for most things you need.
Swimming pool was perfect to cool off in.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Great place to stay if you are visiting Sesriem. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable to accommodate a family with kids.
The staff is excellent and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay (kudos specially to Paul on this).
Food is also very good and quality and the kitchen staff make sure all your dietary requirements are considered.
What a fantastic experience that was. You are treated like a king from start to finish. The Hotel Manager has created a superb atmosphere with all the staff. The facilities are greatly located.

The staff went out of their way to provide a good experience. Quaint and interesting decorations on the property. Rooms were very private. Food excellent. We were provided with a brunch packet so that we could leave very early to drive to Sesriem for the day.
A very nice place with nice swimming pool to have a drink! Dinner @ Sossusvlei Lodge was really great (food and place): dinner under the stars! :) Perfect location as only few kilometers from the gate.
nicely designed, inside the park, close to its own small dune, easy to drive to Sesriem canyon and Namib sky balloon and the entire staff was very friendly and provides amazing services
Close enough to Sesriem. Nice bungalows and incredible views of the desert and awesome dark skies for stargazing. Good restaurant and friendly staff. There is a small pool.
Incredible little house very well designed, comfortable and clean. Very good service from Etona when we arrived. Quiet and 4min to Sesriem gate, definitely recommand!
We had a fantastic stay. Everyone was super helpful, and the tour provided by the hotel was exceptional. Perfect for a romantic weekend. Definitely would come back.
the architecture of the main lodge, the evening buffet and hospitality that came with it, the good location inside the park and ease to get to Sesriem and Sossus.
