Best place to plan to climb Jebel Toubkal (4160 m) – Morocco’s and North Africa’s highest mountain. Not only Toubkal but many other day trips and hikes can take place from Imlil including visiting Berber villages, with guides who can be hired locally with many different types of trips to meet your needs, horse, donkey or bicycle its all on offer. Note no local ATM machines so take enough cash or be prepared for a short trip to Ansi. Wherever you travel the views are inspiring.

excellent hideaway from the heat of Marrakesh.

excellent hideaway from the heat of Marrakesh. Zarathustra restaurant cooked us a fantastic dinner, for the right price. We has a look to their rooms, and other that there was no air-con at the time, the style, price and size were very nice. Some of the rooms had shared bathroom. We did not find good restaurants in Imlil other than the above, though we did not check other hotels and riads. there are some local restaurants that were ok, very local....

Even if you aren’t planning to hike Toubkal, I would 100% suggest Imlil for a quiet weekend to get away from the bustle and bustle of Marrakech. In my two trips to Morocco, I’ve visited Imlil three times, once for a day, once for several days on my second trip just to relax with no plans of hiking Toubkal, and then I returned with friends to hike Toubkal. My experience with the people of Imlil is that they are genuinely welcoming and kindhearted, not just pretending to be because you’re a tourist with money, as I’ve experienced in other cities. The prices of things are also typically better than in Marrakech overall, although they are still geared towards tourists. Despite being a few different settlements, Imlil is a small village where everyone knows each other and is happy to help you find what you’re looking for. There are plenty of guides for a day hike or for hiking Toubkal, and whatever lodging you stay at can usually help you find someone to guide you. Overall, Imlil is my favorite place in Morocco, and coming here feels like returning home.

Incredible mountain village. The mountains and nature are breath-taking. If you want peace away from it all I highly recommend! The local people are very peaceful and kind too. Don't be shy to say hello! One of my favourite places in Morocco so far

Absolutely everything. This place is incredible and we couldn't recommend it more. The family who run the hotel go over and above to help you and make you feel at home. The food is the best we had in Morocco, and it has the best views in Imlil. The rooms are great too...comfortable, all the facilities you need and awesome views from big windows. Thank you to the wonderful staff for allowing us to stay with you and be part of this special place. Especially for helping us with our car. We really hope to be back one day.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at Riad Atlas 4 Seasons. The room was magnificent, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, offering a stunning perspective of the highest mountain of Morocco Toubkal. The food was delicious, and the hospitality of the staff was unparalleled. A special thanks to Mr. Rachid for his exceptional kindness and attention to detail. I cannot recommend this Riad highly enough!.

Really beautiful location outside the center of imlil with the most beautiful views. Imlil center is a 20 minute walk as well Driss is the host and he is also a tour guide so you could speak with him about taking you on any type of hike including mount toubkal. The stay was lovely with great hosts. Nice rooms and good food. The mint tea was our favourite! We did a hike with Driss and got to see all the villages and waterfalls around imlil.

Perfect location to explore the Imlil valley. Beautiful property with out of this world views. Big room with balcony with views of mountains, valley and surrounding villages. Excellent home cooked moroccon food and fantastic service. They organised a guide for us with little notice who was able to tailor a hike for us and they also welcomed us into their home for tea. It was a brilliant experience.

This was our favourite accomodation in morocco. The hotel itself is very comfortable and cosy while being well priced. breakfast was great and the views were stunning. the sun room is great for trapping the suns heat when it’s chilly outside. the best part though was Hassan who helps run the place, he is extremely helpful (especially if you want to do any mountain activities)

They made us a fresh cooked lunch at short notice and it was the best lunch we had in our whole stay in Morocco! Fabulous! Incredibly generous hosting there. Very nice and special place. The view of the mountains and valley was amazing. The host was welcoming, offered dinner and arranged trekking with a mule for the kids. There were local style clothing for the guests in the room, which was a great fun and a bonus for the kids. The breakfast was great - best we had in Morocco.
