Spacious room :)
If you want to visit Trieste the location is a bit far away you need to drive around 35min and right on the motorway which is not really mice holiday place. But if you get the room at the back yard you would not hear any noise.

Monfalcone is not the most touristic place to be. we were there for a regatta so we visited, the sailclub/marina! we visited Slovenia (the caves) visited Trieste, Udine, Grado,... Monfalcone was fine, and a good place to start these visits. I like the authenticity and it not being touristic,

I wish I hadn't planned for 2 days here - everything was so expensive, much more so than other places in Italy. The locals did not seem to be very welcoming of my presence although I did try to be as polite as possible and avoid the "annoying tourist" stereotype. I felt quite trapped in the small town and didn't know where to go - most cafes advertised as being open on google maps were actually closed...
Great Place. We really enjoyed the stay. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We didn't want to leave, honestly. We would stay longer; however, the place was not available. We found a cheaper place, but I wouldn't mind paying more to stay at this place. Cleanliness, attention, and care—you would feel yourself never leaving home. You will get everything that you need, and they will provide it. I highly suggest this place if you are looking for a place to stay near Monfalcone.
Imagine a room and a bed. There you have it. Nothing else, but what there is could even be called comfortable of sorts. If all you need is to sleep and to get up, for example, to catch an early morning plane at Trieste Airport (just 10-15 minutes by car), then that would be a great place to stay. The center of Monfalcone is very walkable from this base, which is easy to find near a tall church tower. Staff was very friendly, the price extremely fair. The Internet was fine, too.
I took my parents to visit the region and decided on Monfalcone as the base. Antica locanda al Gelso looked like the perfect option with its central location in town. Although they don't have their own parking lot, it wasn't an issue to find available parking close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful (a young lad named Marco in particular).
Breakfast is a bit unorthodox with you having to order what you'd like to eat, but the service is impeccable.
The location is great, an easy 10 minute walk from the train stop in Monfalcone. The apartment was very clean and had everything I needed. Bed was very comfortable. Angelo is an excellent host. My husband ended having to leave our trip early and couldn’t stay with me, but Angelo was accommodating and made me feel very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Angelo was nice enough to also give me a ride to the airport. I would happily stay here again!
by far, the proprietress makes this establishment shine. By muddling through with Google Translate and English, we got by splendidly. She grew up in Monfalcone and she seemed to know every inch of it. She greeted us with warm strudel that was homemade. She was so very kind. It felt like a true European household. Nice breakfast! There are two supermarkets within a 10 minute walk.
Its a furnished flat. The hotels are limited with the facilities. But this is a residential flat which had every thing. The owner had provided all food items which a normal hotel does not provide. It is very spacious. The lady is very kind and expressed best of hospitality treatment. To an extent that she dropped to the railway station.
This is the second time we have stayed here in four years. The hotel is still just as good! The staff and housekeeping are of a high standard. For breakfast serve meat, cheese, eggs, bread, yoghurt, muesli, croissants, fruit and drinks. There is an excellent beach 5 minutes away. There are cafes nearby where you can have dinner.
Very clean hotel and very helpful hotel stuff. They also provided an extra bed for us without charging anything. Even though we stayed just for one night, we enjoyed a lot and breakfast was also very good. Would like to stay again at thish hotel when we are on that region.
You feel you've boarded a trans-ocean ship once entering a hotel. Room is small, but very comfortable. Breakfast were plentiful with variety of tasty fresh croissants. It was just a 1 night stop over for us, but surprisingly good stay.
Walking distance to city center.
It's a really amazing place! Extremely spacious,r very comfortable and the host is so welcoming. We stayed here only one night to catch an early flight. 5-10 minutes walk from the train station which is a 4 minute ride from the airport! I really recommend this spot.
Excellent breakfast especially given the price. Also, Wifi was very good (over 50mbs) - much better than the usual 10mbs(or less) you find in most hotels in Italy including even the more expensive ones. Friendly staff and parking was very convenient.
The staff was helpful! The room was with very special design - once it must have been a very luxurious hotel - before the era of computers and smartphones. I would like to know what style is its design! No renovation should destroy it.
Parking is included. Garage is spacious enough to accommodate our large car.
Very friendly staff.
Location is close to the center of Monfalcone.
Good coffee for breakfast: ask to prepare it at the bar.
It is a small Hotel with very kind personel. The room is very comfetable. Ther is no breakfast in de the hotel but there is a nice breakfast place directly next to the hotel.
Nice hotel with good facilities. Essentially everything you would expect from a chain hotel. Bed was comfortable and size of room was adequate. Shower was a tad small.
The hotel was very close to Trieste Airport which is near Monfalcone (30 minute walk) and that is why we rented it. Room was big and ac worked properly.
