The owner is really nice, he explained us the most important things we could visit near the guesthouse. The room is nice but a little bit oldfashioned.

The house is located in the wilderness, about 2 km from the main road. Pure nature ❤️ It has no reception; entry is by code and key! The house is nice, the kitchen is small but modern and has the essentials. The room is small but clean.

Best of the best property.
I would strongly recommend everyone to stay in this hotel at least once. Hotel has every amenity you can think of.
One of the best place to see NORTHERN LIGHTS while having geothermal bath.
Extremely grateful to Thorey ( not sure if I spelled the name correctly) but he is one of the best person we met in Iceland. His and the hotel’s hospitality was extremely amazing. He went above and beyond to serve us meal late at night. He was very friendly and even showed us the around. He took us to the point in the hotel from where we could see northern lights.
Meeting him felt like we met God that day.

Guðrún prepared everything with exceptional care and her warmth simply fills up the whole place. Right from the start she provided us with many travel tips and home-cooked dinner so delicious, that we fondly remember it even after completing the whole trip. We would love to come back again one day and have more time to enjoy the silence and vastness of surrounding scenery. Takk fyrir!

The room I slept in had possibly the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Cannot recommend it enough and I wish we could have stayed longer. The hot tub was spacious and the living room and kitchen had everything you might need. The bathroom was modern and very clean.

Stayed here because there was reasonably priced accommodations mostly on route to where we were going. The town is small, doesn't appear to be too much to it. The people were nice, it felt safe, and was by the water.

To me, this was a perfect area to pass through when transiting between the mainland and the Snaefellsnes. The passage full of stories and beautiful farmlands. I just wish I had more days to spend here.
The location was amazing! Very isolated and full of charm. We rented the two cottages and a room in the guest house. The remaining rooms ended up empty so we had uncontested use of the common areas. The cottages were great, but I would have booked the full guest house had I known the setup. Even still, it was nice having the extra space. Plenty of awesome views and nosey sheep to complete the rural vibe. Beautiful dark skies where we saw a great many stars, albeit no northern lights. Fantastic option for this area of Iceland!
Caroline and her husband are such a nice and helpful people! The hotel is sparkling clean. The breakfast was very good. There is coffee machine in kitchen and in the private room as well. And the hotel is just near the beach, you can go out with your coffee and seat on the bank facing the beach. I was guided about nice walk, there is also nice nature hot spring about 15 minutes drive from hotel.
Loved the convenience of having a fully equipped kitchen, sitting area, separate bedroom and bathroom, and access to washer and dryer in the shared cabin. We booked a night here on a whim after a prior booked hotel wasn't what we expected, and are so glad we did. It was a relaxing last night on the road and it was great to catch up on laundry before returning to Reykjavík to head for home.
The staff was super friendly. The GPS put me in front of a house on another road. I called the hotel and they stayed with me on the phone, even came out to guide me around the block to make sure I was able to get to the hotel.
The on-site restaurant was nice and convenient. It is where they had breakfast with good selection of foods and one of the best chocolate croissant twists.
Rooms are very clean, the place is quiet, but the best thing is the view. They also have 2 hot tubs and our host was very nice to let us use them. We were very lucky to see the northern lights right from the tub. And we also enjoyed a nice morning on the fjord in the kayaks. It was one of the best accommodation we had in our Icelandic trip and would definitely come back.
Nice and fairly good restaurant with simple dishes. Room shared bathroom, but not many guestrooms and worked out OK for us. very clean and modern bathrooms. the guest room was nice and very quiet. Budardalur is conveniently located if you plan to travel to the Snaefellsness Peninsula. the gravel road from Budardalur to Stykkisholmur was one of my favorite in Iceland.
Great value and large 3 bedroom home. Loved some of the antiques int eh home and the "charm". Road to get to the house was "bumpy" and unpaved like many roads in Iceland but did add a little bit of time onto getting there and to Reykjavik. Owners with great communication and details to locate home. Accommodating for our late arrival as well.
The room was quite large though very simple. A good location just off the highway that split our drive up well. Shower had excellent hot water and very good water pressure. Easy to collect keys and access room. Shared fridge and hot drink supplies outside of room. Least expensive stay of our 3+ weeks in Iceland.
Location was easy to find. Was even on our map of Iceland. Cabin was comfortable and well equipped. Grocery store was close in Budardafur. I think only 10 miles away. Host was friendly and helpful and quick to respond to question. Be sure to stop at Eric the Red’s historical sod home only 300 yards away.
No pretentions very good value for money hotel in fabulous setting with incredible sunset.
Simple cuisine and good breakfast. Very friendly, informative and reactive staff (a problem with Wi-Fi was sorted immediately). A billiards table provided some relaxation.
We had a great room with our own sink. The restaurant offers a good choice of food and you even get a discount if you stay in the hotel.
Breakfast is awesome and the staff is very friendly.
The bathrooms are very modern and clean.
Collected keys from the reception next door. There are 4 or 5 cottages in their own secluded plot. There was an oven so we had bought food at Búðardalur and had a cosy night in.
Good sized bathroom for a cabin and comfy bed.
we felt as though we were staying with Icelandic family in a good way! we stayed in the room with private bath and it was really a small apartment. the food (dinner and breakfast) was very good
We had the check in at 1am, because of a storm, and the lady who hosted us was so comprehensive and kind. A very quiet place in one of the oldest houses in Buðardalur
Our first stop in Iceland was this Guesthouse. Located in a small town, near the waterfront. Room was great, we had also dinner here. Breakfast was also splendid.
Wonderful family run hotel, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Spotless room and bathrooms, with amazing sea views. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Our favorite accommodation on our 20 day trip to Iceland. A great little cabin with all the necessary amenities. A peaceful location with a pretty view.
