A cozy little cottage in a stunning and very quiet region of iceland.
We loved to stay there.
When we needed fresh towels, the hosts brought them right away.
We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and soaking in the hot tub.

Our host was really welcoming, caring and informative. They took really seriously that every guest should feel like home and were proud of that they still give a classic guesthouse experience (of which they should).
We ate the best breakfast here during our 12 days in Iceland! Exceptional variety and quality, with care prepared.
The room was comfy, with an extra sink.

Nice and quiet location, lovely view over the valley, cozy room nicely and well thought furnished, comfy beds; exceptionally good breakfast!! including high quality homemade goodies. Nice lunch packets available as well.
A real highlight for us were also the informative talks with Abba and her husband about local life.
This place was our absolute favorite on the island and Abba is just a wonderful host!!!

The best house where we stayed in Iceland, the owners were very friendly, the house was perfect equipped, the facilities were in perfect condition and the beds were very comfortable. In our stay we saw northern lights from the house, so the stay was unbeteable. Without a doubt, highly recommended and I would repeat the stay without thinking about it. Many thanks to the owners for the welcome and if I return to Iceland, I will definitely repeat.

We loved our stay at this room which is located on a working farm. The owners were super nice and helpful. The room was spacious (by European standards) and extremely clean. The breakfast was fantastic - the typical continental items were served but also included was scrambled eggs.

Nice accommodation and friendly staff. All the rooms were cozy, I can imagine a longer stay in this facility. Unfortunately the weather was not good, so we didn't enjoy the surroundings.

Lovely property very cosy and warm. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The hot tub was perfect after a day of exploring. We made use of the cooking facilities for the week this was really handy. Perfect location for exploring the north.

The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it.
The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it. Very cosy and clean room, nice beds, great shower. Microwave, tea facilities, bathrobes for the hot tub. The cute horses on the land. The wonderful hot tub, sitting there at night under the stars waiting for the Northern Light was a magical experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good and the staff was so nice to us. We are vegetarian and they made scrambled eggs especially for us without bacon, thank you so much! We regretted having to leave, but when we are in the area again we will definitely come back!
The unit we occupied was between two others. So, a little like a motel, but with a lovely rural atmosphere. Lovely little table set on the deck which overlooked the pastures. At the corner of the building was a hot tub which the owner filled upon arrival with geothermal water, which was then emptied after we'd gone to bed. Loved the hot tub and was one of the warmest we used while in Iceland. Owners were friendly and nice, and lovely farm with everything you'd expect on a farm.
The room was spacious, spotless and facilities well maintained! A lot of heating provided in the apartment which we are so thankful for. Staff response to our queries was immediate. it is a very comfortable stay and right between Husavik and Myvatn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended!
Now we are quite sorry we didn’t take any pictures of the apartment. However, we do feel that the apartment looks better than the photos posted of the property :)
Breakfast was wonderful as described by everyone else, fresh cooked farm eggs, homemade apple pie, lots of variety. For sure the best breakfast on our whole trip. It seems the northern area is more expensive for lodging overall, and this was one of the most expensive, but worth it. Tea and homemade cookies when we arrived. Room was pretty large by Iceland standards, nice bathroom. Lots of animals right outside to visit with. The host was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel’s location was more than excellent: close to Godafoss waterfall , relative close to Húsavík and to Myvatn Lake with all the attraction and a very good point to start the Diamond Circle. In my opinion better than Akureyri.
There were a few tourists but everything was set for us. Nothing was missing.
We arrived late and an envelope with our key was waiting for us at the reception.
The breakfast was also very good.
Awesome guest house 25min from east side of Myvatn lake. We had a room with private bathroom that was very spacious and comfortable, with a sofa and a small table. Really nice balcony with views over the countryside on the rooms' floor. Amazing breakfast with a very varied offer (including waffles!). Big and well furnished kitchen available to cook. We stayed 2 nights and it was one of our favorite places in Iceland!
Small garden cottage for two with everything you need, kitchenette, smaller living room, bedroom and bathroom. There is a hob, hot air fryer, electric kettle. Some food, cornflakes, coffee, tea, sugar, etc. are available. I appreciate the possibility of double darkening in the bedroom (it solves problems when the midnight sun shines outside, usually in the summer months in Iceland)
the location was great- within 30 min you can get to the lava fields, myvatn baths, kafla, et . there is a small supermarket right next door and a restaurant.
the host, Helga, was lovely and attentive.
the apartment was spacious and comfortable. the kitchen was stocked and had coffee, tea, oil, sugar and pots and pans etc.
there was also a washer and dryer, which was amazing!
For the cost a wonderful value. Rooms were very nice, clean and beds comfortable. There was a hot tub available as well. Convenient place for us to stop along Iceland's Ring Road. Short drive to Myvatn, Akureyri, or Husavik. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was included but unfortunately we had to be on the road by 7:00 am so we missed it.
Friendly hosts. The breakfast was very good and we really liked the area around Laugar. The room was a bit crowded for the three of us with all of our luggage but the beds were comfortable. The common area was excellent with room to sit and eat without infringing on the other guests.
Storu-Laugar was a perfect stay for a family of four, with nice, friendly all you need property, with great location to venture off and explore the area in all directions. Breakfast was amazing and the hot tube a very welcome place to reflect on the day in this amazing country
Property is very central to Akureyri and Myvatn and Husavik - really god hub to travel in various direction
Good new grill and hot tube that we did not use unfortunately since both evenings we stayed there we did visit nature baths in Myvatn and Husavik
Conveniently located when traveling North. Kind staff, great breakfast and comfortable room. Nice tea and coffee available. Fun decor, books and other Icelandic info. Hot tub outside but we didn’t stay long enough to use it. Friendly dog on property!
Really enjoyed our stay here and would return. Clean, comfortable and nice decor (despite being a boarding school). Swimming pool and running track nearby. A good location to base ourselves for visiting Lake Myvatn and Husavik.Good breakfast too.
The welcome was very friendly, the rooms are sweet and shiny clean. The breakfast was superb and the location perfect for daytrips.
Extra bonus: the hot tub in the garden.
If we'll visit iceland again, we will definitely come back!
Breakfast was good. I liked the hotel staff's welcoming demeanor after we found this last minute option after being stuck in a snowstorm. They even heated up our packed food, served rice. The customized dinner serving was amazing.
