Friendly staff, comfy beds, good blackout curtains.. I can’t remember the room type we stayed in, it wasn’t the most basic they offered but it was still a good price with a single and a double bed. It was very comfy and even had a bath. The property was quiet and felt like it was in the middle of the countryside though actually not far from cork. The staff were lovely and gave us great travel tips

Stunning location, both my bedroom and the breakfast room overlooking the very pretty harbour in view of a bright array of moored boats nearby the world famous Royal Crosshaven Yacht Club. Whispering Pines easy to find on the main road into the village.
The bedroom was spotlessly clean, as was the large ultra modern shower room with ample and powerful hot water pressure.
The large breakfast room, with a view to die for, furnished with well spaced tables. As has previously been noted, the breakfast menu choice is extensive, including of course the much enjoyed, and prepared to order Irish breakfast - with ample cereal/fruit/juice choice, together with an endless coffee pot - further cups which I enjoyed on the terrace fronting the breakfast room with comfortable seating.
The village, a 15 minute walk away, has all the facilities you require. Of particular interest to me, having as a child visited Pipers who still run it, was seeing the children's "Merries" (funfair) as they are locally known as, retaining a wonderful seaside image of a bygone era. Do visit Buckleys the "locals" pub, an inviting atmosphere.
The host Monica, quite charming, with a beguiling smile. Informative with helpful advice on the many interesting places to visit, restaurant recommendations etc. She very sweetly took time to arrange a late dinner booking for me on a very busy bank holiday evening, thank you. You are made very welcome. An interesting mix of fellow guests on my visit.
To sum up, location & village perfect, accommodation & meals faultless, excellent value. Highly recommended.

This is a regular castle with a real family living in and renting rooms. In a castle. I somehow missed this fact when booking the place. I thought it was a hotel called castle or a castle converted into a hotel but here we are, staying in a regular castle with a peacock in the garden and a pony walking around and welcoming guests. Plus a regular knight's armor in the corridor. The host is extremely kind and friendly, very helpful and providing interesting information about the history of the place and attractions in the area. The price was very reasonable for a magical stay like this. It would be lovely to stay longer.

The room.was very nice, the bath/shower as well. But what I/we think was outstanding, is Jas, the owner. She is so nice and always there to help out with great tips on what to do around Cork.
Facing Cork City Hall, the Clayton Hotel Cork overlooks the River Lee. It offers beautifully designed air-conditioned rooms, a health and spa centre with pool, and a fine restaurant.

Very roomy accommodation both sleeping quarters and guests'...
Very roomy accommodation both sleeping quarters and guests' sitting room. Great breakfast and the gardens are beautiful. Our hosts were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The gardens were very inviting and Claire and Chris were happy for us to wander around at our own pace.
