Peggie was a lovely host, friendly and casual. The house and room was clean, bright, comfortable, airy. Very quiet and private. Facilities, wifi, tv, towels and bed all perfect. A lot of pride in the breakfast, many options. Close to Bantry and other areas in West Cork. There is a nice dog too you might catch outside.

Christine’s apartment was fantastic- a great location right in town yet private and quiet, it is beautifully appointed and has all the amenities you could want. It is spotless and all the contents were new and very tasteful. And then Christine was a wonderful host, very easy and helpful to communicate with, warm and friendly, and had great suggestions for where to go and what to do locally.
I’ve been an Airbnb host for years so can say that Christine does a wonderful job, we would be back in a heartbeat. It was the nicest stay we’ve had in Ireland so far, Thank you!

Durrus is a central location for days of car touring from Ballydehob, Schull, Goleen, Crookhaven, BarleyCove & The Mizen. Or exploring out to Sheep's Head Lighthouse and walking the many walking routes on the peninsulas. Only a few minutes drive to town of Bantry and its restaurants many tourist attractions. And Durrus is only half an hour's drive from Glengarriff via Bantry and Ballylickey along the exquisite sheltered coastal road west.
Durrus is very small. Have to recommend Anna Langrish's Gallery and Cafe in nearby Ahakista. Lovely coffee and cakes in Goleen. Didn't have time to eat as we did so much sightseeing.

Durrus doesn't have the attractions of bigger towns like Bantry and hasn't worked on its tourism potential as thoroughly as many other little West Cork villages but it has a couple of good pubs and a very good little village shop (Ryans), friendly people, and is the perfect location for accessing the peninsulas of west cork
