The Loch Connell Lodge is a beautiful, spacious and relaxing property nestled in the gorgeous Donegal Countryside. The rooms and beds are really comfortable, and the property was really well catered, included items from breakfast, washing facilities, different areas to relax and some nice outdoor spaces for when the weather is nice. The place is well signposted from the road, and offered a lot of space for parking if you've taken a car. You'll be sharing with other guests, but the house is big enough to not feel cramped, and everyone when we were there was very pleasant and polite.
John was a brilliant host, checking in regularly to see how we were and offering advice on the local area.

if you’re looking for a very basic, roof over head scenario then you’ll be grand. if you’re looking anything grander, forget it. It had everything we needed. To get their put Eddie’s Cottage into google maps, it’ll avoid the longer back road drive that google takes you when you use the description on the booking listing. Eddie (when we met him) was very polite and friendly, and he’d lit the fire for us arriving. Good location for staying close to Mount Errigal.

The small signpost to turn off from main road, is easily missed- I did! We were on a road trip around west Donegal & was a good place to stay on our journey...
The hotel is in a lovely tranquil location, we had lovely waterfront views from our room...dinner was delicious & a v good selection of choices for breakfast...the staff were v friendly & professional, it feels a more personable, family run hotel!
Many Thanks!
House was excellent and was contacted before arrival to say heating was on very good arriving into nice warm house.
Also great that local hotel and pubs and cafe within easy walking distance.
The house location was excellent as many other places of interest and beach was also close for swimming in North Atlantic very invigorating.
The area also has a great atmosphere every you go.
Our Host was very pleasant and very responsive to any issues and very friendly. So very rare and excellent to have use of a car garage. The Time & Tide cafe was 2 minutes walk away and did perfect coffee. The hotel was an easy 3 minute walk in the other direction that did very good food at reasonable prices. Located in a quiet village with most amenities within walking distance.
We had a lovely room overlooking the bay. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful in sorting out the gluten free food for my wife who has a severe allergy. There was a nice atmosphere in the hotel and the bar van and seated area across the road was great for having a drink in the sun. All in all a great stay after months of lockdown.
The hotel is set in a beautiful bay and when the tide is in is absolutely stunning. There are an abundance of beautiful beaches nearby … Bunbeg, Carrickfinn and Mullach Rua. The stafff are very attentive and the hotel has homely vibes. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.
Lovely atmosphere, all staff so friendly and helpful; our room was fantastic in terms of size, decor, cosiness plus beautiful sea view. Food plentiful in choice and servings. Such a comfortable and welcoming hotel.
Very happy with our stay in this hotel - the staff were so helpful and lovely. The food was amazing and the location was absolutely perfect. The Hatch beer garden is a fantastic touch also. Go raibh maith agaibh!
Location is phenomenal. Rooms are tidy, clean, and have beautiful views. The restaurant serves delicious food and a great drinks menu, and above all, staff is accommodating and friendly.
