The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna.
We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna. I'm in a wheelchair, so changing hotels constantly is a chore for my partner. We visited Lugo itself on our last day and were pleasantly surprised by its charm, impressive walls and other medieval corners.
We are walking the Camino Primitivo and I fell in the road just before we arrived. The owner was incredibly helpful. He got me ice for my injury, and helped us find a 24 hr pharmacy. It all made me feel so much better. Also the property is extremely clean, bright, and comfortable with a nice attached bar & restaurant. It is in an excellent neighborhood about 1 km easy walking down a lovely boulevard to reach the city center. Next time I am in Lugo I will stay again.
This is a really excellent, modern bright hotel with fantastic reviews on the higher floors (e.g. floor 5).
It's well worth pre-booking the breakfast which is very good.
Reception staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is perfectly located, close to the old town, just outside the Roman city walls and conveniently close to the bus station. Parking in the nearby streets is veey straightforward.
I spend one night in the end of June in this peaceful and cozy place. It was in the center of Lugo. There was only four customers, even it was so cheap and value of money. Very clean place. Nice single beds. Many bathrooms. Towels were included in the price. The door code was easy to use. Friedly stuff. Lugo was beautiful city surrounded by the Roman wall. Gracias!
I liked that it was outside of the city walls so it was away from the busy sections of Lugo (but close enough to walk to the city center). The hostel seems like it was just remodeled so everything is new and clean. There are spacious shared bathrooms. The hosts were so nice upon our arrival and they took fantastic care of us ahead of our long journey on El Camino.
The hotel is a short walk to the old city and also the bus station is nearby. The staff is very professional and helpful with answering questions about restaurants and things to do. The rooms are clean, have modern furniture, and the Wi-Fi signal is strong. Our room was well insulated as it was very quite in the evening and in the morning.
A fairly standard corporate hotel. We only had food in the cafe which was adequate but not inspiring. A good regular bus service into Lugo and staff very helpful in explaining the routes and procedures. Otherwise not a great location, not able to walk anywhere. An interesting large superstore adjacent to the hotel.
I stayed in many lovely accommodations in my Camino, but this was the best. Lovely small apartment. Comfortable bed, private bathroom, full kitchen (we saved money by heading pizza one evening) and a self serve breakfast in the morning. Even a clothes washing machine. Wonderful!
Bedroom small but comfortable for our one night stay. Secure garage parking for our motorcycles. Easy to find hotel. Food issues were of slight concern but we got there. Staff were first class, especially Tall lady in restaurant and Borsa at reception. Great guy.
This hotel is 1 of just 2 that are located in the Old Town of Lugo however this one is excellent value for money. It is very traditional however comfortable and has everything that one needs from a hotel. It also has a great roof top bar and terrace
We were 3 pilgrims on a detour from Lugo to Sobrado and we found everything we could wish for! The owner was so kind and the place clean, comfortable and with nice atmosphere. Best sleep on the camino so far.
It's right in the heart of Lugo centre which is ideal if you're looking for a central location. It's on a street with a lot of bars and restaurants so you don't have to wander far for food or drinks.
I loved that the host was able to accommodate our late arrival. We could only book a late bus to Lugo and he was kind enough to let us check in. Everything was super clean and perfect location.
Hotel staff was waiting with our reservation. Window looks out to the Roman wall. Room was old, -which is most noted in the style of bathroom- but tidy and in working order.
Beautiful building, interiors, atmosphere and kind owners. Next to the roman wall and close to the cathedral. Also very nice breakfast. Best spot in Lugo.
