I liked the help and interaction with the lobby staff and also the staff who assisted me at breakfast answering all my questions and were absolutely professional and lovely people to be associated with. I would like to highlight Vivien at the front desk and Ding Juan who were both extremely helpful and made my stay so much more enjoyable.

stayed at ancient town, very convenient for food. But bear in mind cars not allowed in ancient town, accommodation send luggage carts. Communication in chinese important as they meet you somewhere at the entrance and bring you in with your luggages. No breakfast where I stayed but as early as 7am, shops for breakfast are opened. Need local sim card to get around by Didi. Need an app in english but couldn't get translation. Thankfully spouse could read chinese, did all the ride hailing and maps in chinese. If there was an app in English, would help non speaking/reading chinese. Suggest use a reputable tour company for private tours and plan everything if you can't use mandarin.

Mostly everything was good!...
Mostly everything was good!... I agree it's a five star hotel. What it wasn't so great is that the staff in general doesn't show to be HAPPY!... It's unusual to see SMILES!!!... Also, there's some mosquitos and a few flies around. Hahaha...

It's a laid back city.
It's a laid back city. Slower pace than the other metropolises. I went in May and the weather was beautiful. It's a walkable city but I highly recommend using the Chinese APPs to rent e-bikes. It's the best way to see the city. That's pretty much what I did for my four days there. For local restaurants, get some good recommendations from the staff where you are staying. If you want some good Western food, Salvador's is a good option. Also, Wooden Paradise a good cocktail bar with cheap happy hour deals and a friendly owner. Juan'er is a great cafe that uses Yunnan beans. I didn't visit any special sights, except for Green Park, which is your standard big city park, so I can't comment on them.

Kunming is a non-touristy town that people often pass through. This is such a pity because we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful parks, the calm atmosphere of the locals playing cards and games, the cute cafes, and the interesting restaurants. Kunming has everything you need but it is toned down compared to other Chinese cities which is what we wanted as we live in Guangzhou. Salvador’s restaurant is a must visit as is Humdinger for a local craft beer. Did I mention that the weather is perfect? It is known for being a city of ‘eternal spring’ for its gorgeous weather.

Unfortunately, my stay was only for one night (layover).
Unfortunately, my stay was only for one night (layover). My wife told me Kunming was an exceptionally pleasant and scenic place to be, and from what I saw from my limited time on the ground and the from the plane's window, it looks it. I am definitely going back!

Kunming in the middle of winter was a great place to visit.
Kunming in the middle of winter was a great place to visit. Days were sunny and mainly dry. Lots if interesting places to visit in and around the city. Western Hill is only a RMB4 subway ride from the city centre and an excellent place to spend a day. Nationalities village is a good place to understand the culture of the different ethnic groups. The Stone Forest and nearby caves is a gret place for a day trip. Further afield is the Dongchuan red land and the Jiaozi Snow Mountain. There are a good range of halal restaurants in the city.
The host is a wonderful person who really made my trip exceptional! She went out of her way to arrange for a taxi to p;ick me up from the airport for a late night arrival, and even helped arrange a taxi for my next leg of the journey at another airport and hotel in China. She was so friendly and accommodating the whole time. Staying here felt like staying with family. The rooms are nice and have individual temperature controls. The location is perfect for visiting the Stone Forest. Can't say enough good things about this place!
the gentleman who runs the guesthouse with his family was absolutely amazing. He collected us from the airport and had to wait a really long time but did so with a smile, he went out at midnight to find food for my family and I, he made check in as easy as possible as we were still in Thailand holiday clothes rather than for sun zero temperatures. They made sure we go to the airport on time, very early I might add, and packed a breakfast for us.
Everything! Stylish and equipped with beautiful historical furniture, attentive service from Nining and her colleague, who were extremely helpful with recommendations and being supportive when any doubts came up, and unbeatable location where everything is happening in Kunming’s old/central district. Would definitely stay again! Oh and the bathtub in our room was insane!
The owner and staff are helpful, friendly, English speaking and have excellent communication.
The rooms were lovely and well stocked. bed was exceptionally comfortable.
We stayed for 12 days and it proved to be a good base for all things to visit around Kunming.
The village itself is a lovely traditional Yunnan village with several excellent local cuisine restaurants.
the hotel has beautiful decor and good facilities. it’s right in the center of the old town, so I could walk around empty street in the morning and at evening when there’s no visitors around.
the staffs are friendly and very accommodating. will stay at this hotel again when visit Kunming next time
Our flight to Kunming was pretty late, so we searched for a accommodation not far from the airport. Yuanyan Homestay was the perfect choice for our pit-stop. The hotel arranged for us free airport pickup. The stuff was very friendly and willing to help. Our room was big and very cosy.
I was only there on a layover. Even though I don't speak any Chinese and the staff didn't speak any English we managed to communicate about the basics of the stay with a translator app. They arranged everything very nice for me about airport pickup and dropoff. I'm very happy.
It was a really nice stay at Delta. Rooms are well organized and clean, hotel is quiet. The facilities are shared with the Sheraton and offer very good options for your stay. Breakfast offers several western and Chinese choices.
Overall an outstanding hotel in Kunming.
it's an interesting small town where is closed to the airport.
The accommodation was fine just passing by one night, and the facilities are just looked like the pictures you can see.
Swimming pool warm water and high floor room. Service was good too. Our first night room was little warm and next day hotel gave us change another better room. 👍👍👍
