3.8 km from Lake Toya in Lake Toya, Lake Toya Tsuruga Resort HIKARINOUTA provides accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and spa facilities. Dinner and breakfast were amazing both French and Japanese. We are vegetarian so chef prepared special meals for us. The best rooms are in floors 3 and 4 where you have open view of the lake. We don’t recommend taking the deluxe rooms as there are only 2, and you might end up in the second floor with partial view of the lake.

Chalet Ivy Jozankei offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 27 km of Sapporo Station and 33 km of Shin-Sapporo Station. Possibly one of our best hotel stays ever. The hotel has a quiet beauty right out of a postcard, the staff are amazing and the food sublime. They did everything to make our stay perfect. The food is one of the best I ever had at a hotel, but western travellers should make sure to set expectations regarding the food which is very japanese, it was always interesting and perfectly executed but pushed us to our limits in some cases :)

32 km from Sapporo Station in Jozankei, Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen offers accommodation with access to a hot spring bath. Beautiful, peaceful, delicious food, friendly staff, the rooms are amazing, in room onsen, beautiful grounds. Relaxing. Spa service was wonderful too.

Set 28 km from Sapporo Station, Kuriya Suizan offers 5-star accommodation in Jozankei and features an open-air bath, a garden and a bar. This was the best onsen experience I've ever had. Room was amazing with a sauna and onsen actually in the room. However, it was the staff and the chef that made the stay the best ever! They took into consideration an allergy my son had to certain food type and went above and beyond to accommodate. They were all wonderful.

Ikoino Yuyado Iroha is just a 7-minute walk from Niseko Annupuri Ski Resort. Guests can soak in the hot spring baths or connect to the free WiFi. Quality is top! Onsen is amazing, staff is wonderful, 5 minutes walking from the slopes, food fantastic! Would definitely repeat

Boasting open-air hot spring baths and ocean views, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort is a 15-minute drive from JR Hakodate Station. Free parking is available on site. All the staff are very kind. The Japanese style house is unique and its worth a experience. They have private and common onsen (with beach view outside) We had a great time and would highly recommend this place
