Facing the seafront, Awaji Hamarikyu is a ryokan providing a 5-star accommodation in Minamiawaji. It features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, open-air bath and private parking. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a lift and free shuttle service, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests also enjoy access to the sauna and hot spring bath, as well as the hot tub and public bath. We got a good deal while coming off season and wanted to experience an onsen resort while visiting Japan. The meals were very good traditional Japanese food. The onsens were very nice and not busy, and the rooms were traditional and spacious. The town this hotel is in doesn’t have a lot going on so expect to spend your time in the room/onsen. We did walk down the road to a shrine on the beach, then walked back to the hotel along the beach, hoping to catch the sunset. Unfortunately, it was a hazy day and we didn't get a great sunset, but it was a very nice walk back!
