The stairs to the upstairs bedroom should have a handrail. If you are used to stairs or young this wouldn’t be an issue though.

The property is even better than the photos. The position was perfect. It’s just around the corner from the Main Street with all the historic buildings. You can walk from the train station to the property. The art works and art books are very beautiful. It is extremely well equipped with very good toiletries and beautiful towels. The bed is very comfortable. Roberto is an exceptional host. He met us and went through everything about the property in detail. He carried our cases up the 2 flights of stairs as my partner has a disability. He provided a fruit salad, bottles of water and prosecco plus beautiful biscuits and coffee pods / teas. He ordered a taxi to the airport for us which cost 30Euros and it was definitely worth it.

I would be mindful if you have any mobility issues as it is on 2nd floor with no lift and the stairs to the bedroom are awkward.

-to enter the apartment which was in the second floor, we had to climb a staircase, so it was really difficult with our luggage. There was another narrow staircase inside the apartment that led to the bedroom. I should mention that this is very typical for most Sicilian old apartments that have been renovated, but elevators are not added simply because there is no space!

-the host was very friendly and helpful. He kindly allowed us to stay until late in the afternoon, as our flight was in the evening and it was too hot to be outside. -to welcome us, he also left some fruit, water and a bottle of wine for us! -the apartment was in the center of Catania, therefore we could visit most of the archeological monuments etc on foot. -apartment was nicely decorated, clean and bed comfortable. -a/c was working just fine in all rooms, a must for summer time. -there were 2 toilets/showers. -parking was possible opposite the apartment for a few hours (Municipal parking) but better and safer in a private parking 5 minutes walking distance. Even though the parking said €6 /day, we were paying about €9 for 16 hours stay.

Everything was perfect for us, however there is no lift and there are two flights of stairs. This was not an issue for us.

Roberto is an exceptional host. Our flight was delayed, we got to the apartment close to midnight. Roberto not only waited for us to show us around, but also drove us to the closest car park, waited for us to park our car and then drove us back to the apartment. The apartment is beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and the fruit and biscuits were a lovely touch. We were 3 adults staying there and returning to the cool apartment [air-conditioned throughout] was lovely. Communication was extremely easy by Whatsapp and Roberto speaks English and is very responsive. We checked out at 2pm which was very comfortable for us. The apartment is accessed using keys not a code.

Manganelli Suite was in a fabulous central location. Our host Roberto was very accommodating and helpful. There on arrival and showed us all around his beautiful apartment. Very stylish and decorated well. Veey spacious with bedroom upstairs and own bathroom.Such a lovely surprise was the beautiful fresh fruit platter in the fridge as well as biscuits and prosecco and water - very welcoming gifts for his guests. It was great to explore Catania from this apartment- everything was close and station was only 15- 20 mins walk away. Would highly recommend 👌

The apartment is immaculate, elegant and very comfortable. It is beautifully decorated. It's very central and within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, historic sites. Roberto was proactive and provided great advice re car parking and restaurants/bars. There's a lot to do in Catania. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the perfect place to stay in Catania with the most attentive, kindest host! The apartment exceeded our expectations—it was far more spacious and airy than it appeared in the photos. We especially loved the cosy ambient lighting, the beautiful balcony, and the excellent location. The interior design was elegant and clearly well thought-out, nothing like the generic ready-made style you often find in tourist rentals. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and having two bathrooms was a real convenience. A personal highlight for me was the smart home features: connecting to the Wi-Fi was effortless with a QR code, the upstairs ceiling windows operated via smart switches, and the smart TV had every app and was super easy to use. And of course, a special thanks to our host, Roberto, who truly made the experience complete. He was kind, responsive, and provided everything we needed throughout our stay. We also really appreciated his understanding when we accidentally broke two of the decorative pieces (please don’t repeat our mistakes, the house is decorated with local design pieces). All in all, a fantastic stay—highly recommended!

Perfect place to stay. 2nd floor (3rd for Americans) but not really problem for 60 YO me. Apartment has everything you need. For longer stay you need washing service. There is one self service laundry nearby so no problem. All Catania's attractions are few minutes away from the apartment. We have been visiting other cities on the east coast by car and parked our rented car in guarded parking recommended by Roberto. It was very close to apartment. If I come to Catania again, I am sure I stay here again. Art related books and even poetry (in Italian language if you know it) is additional bonus you get. Much better than watching TV.

The apartment is simply amazing and immaculate - the best place we've ever stayed. We felt like we were staying in a 5-star hotel. The space has been used very cleverly and there was plenty of room for us (family of 3), and all the amenities we needed. The location is excellent as well, and Roberto directed us to a parking space that was very reasonable and permitted 24-hour parking that was only 5 minutes walk away.

The most beautiful apartment in Catania. So cozy, spacious and comfortable. It is furnished with a lot of love and impeccable taste. It's in a renovated old building in the historic part of the city. Very close to the train station. There is a great secure parking nearby. Room was excellent. Really well designed space that allowed us to sleep 3 in separate beds and had excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Roberto the owner was really helpful, he met us on the street, showed us around and explained everything in the apartment, and even let us check out later free of charge since he didn't have any guests the next day.

Maybe have a dustpan & brush so we could sweep the floor before leaving, it was so clean on arrival we wanted to leave it just as spotless when we left! Also would be handy to have a couple of sharp knives for preparing food. These are only small things, we loved this property!

Roberto was such a lovely, kind and generous host. He met us at the apartment, showed us around and gave us some lovely recommendations on where to eat locally. Honestly, not much. What I would say is that the two single beds are best suited to a family with younger children. We travelled with our young adult daughters (23 and 20) and we didn’t appreciate that the single beds were not in a separate bedroom (you pull them down and they are in two separate living areas). For young children, this would be fine, but for older ones, they struggled with the lack of privacy and space. That’s really the only thing I’d say.

The apartment was sparkling clean and in the best possible location for our visit to Catania. The air conditioning worked really well, which was critical given we visited in July and it was very hot (often 38°+). The apartment is cleverly designed and almost everything is brand new. And Roberto was the friendliest, most helpful and kindest host that anyone could hope for. We were so impressed with the service and the overall amenity of the apartment 5⭐️ in every sense of the word.

Best apartment of our trip to Sicily! Roberto was a wonderful host. He renovated this apartment himself with a lot of attention to detail. It’s a beautiful apartment. Our family of four was very comfortable - two single beds in the lower level and a double upstairs in the master suite. And two full bathrooms. Very comfortable mattresses! And fantastic location, just off the main street of Catania. Wish we could have stayed longer here!

We had an issue with hot water only lasting 5 minutes, but the host came and reset the heater and it worked fine after that.

It is a lot larger than I imagined (a loft with stairs) and a tremendous value for the price we paid. More space than you would need for a couple and 2 bathrooms is a huge plus. Everything was very well designed and the host was great. No elevator but stairs were pretty easy to get up
