The street we were on was quiet and quaint, a lovely spot and close to restaurants and cultural sites.

There was some noise. The first day there was loud music above the kitchen and as the ceiling isn’t insulated in that part of the apartment it sounded very loud. Marika asked the neighbour to turn it down after an hour and they did. For the rest of the stay we were aware of TVs on upstairs and noises outside but it wasn’t bothersome.

Lovely apartment and a good size. Very central to everything in Ortigia. We stayed six nights. Marika was helpful and available when she was needed. It was nice to have a washing machine and good sized kitchen. Lots of good restaurants in Ortigia so we didn’t use the kitchen much.

The house was very well located, close to the main attractions but away from the noise. It was compact but had everything we needed. There was a nice lookout garden. The house has a spiral staircase to the bedroom and toilet on the 1st floor of the apartment. The communication with Fabrizio was excellent.

Our stay in Ortigia was simply wonderful, and we have Marika to thank for making it so memorable. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly friendly and attentive, always available to help with anything we needed. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. The apartment itself was perfect – it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from a fully equipped kitchen to cozy living spaces. The location is unbeatable, nestled right in the heart of Ortigia and within walking distance to all the beautiful sites, shops, and restaurants. Beautiful apartment in a stunning location. Quiet in the evenings but a close walk to everything in Ortigia. Couldn't fault it. Parking is a 10 minute walk away at talete car park €15 per 24 hours.

We rented La Stanza di Carlo to enjoy 3 days in Ortigia. The apartment is a true gem in the heart of the city. Marika, both helpful and welcoming, offers high-quality accommodation, elegant with ample amenities that allowed us to spend 3 wonderful days both exploring the city and enjoying the space. The central location on the island provides easy access to the entire city center in less than 15 minutes. We fully understand the prestigious rating of this accommodation. The lady who helped us check-in was very helpful. This place is in the old town and she gave clear instructions on how to unload the luggage without having to pay. We parked in a parking lot about 7 minutes away and walked everywhere in the old town. The place has an amazing location. We enjoyed our stay.

Spacious, with historic charm and modern kitchen and bathroom. Quality finishes, huge shower, and very helpful hostess. Great location near small market and many restaurants and shops. Beautiful, huge windows provide light and quiet. Floor lighting adds a very special touch. Would definitely stay there again.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like

Great location, very comfortable and modern. It was very hot so the air conditioning was great. It had good facilities if you wanted to stay home and cook.

The apartment is great! Adding a unit of drawers (for socks and such) would make it perfect. Also, the marks on the electric oven had rubbed off, so maybe some instructions on how to set this? (We googled 'ikea ovens' and found out in this way, the oven itself works perfectly and produced some yummy dinners for us).

Le Stanze di Carlo is a beautiful, spacious apartment in the heart of Ortigia's Old Town. Well equipped kitchen-diner, cosy seating area with large screen TV, comfortable bedroom and a bathroom that's truly spectacular to look at and a pleasure to use... all this within walking distance of the Piazza Duomo, Ortigia Market and other local attractions,. Our friendly and helpful hosts lived nearby, which proved to be an extra bonus. We loved it all!

Spacious loft right in the center of Ortigia. Well equipped kitchen with also some food available for the guests (cookies for breakfast, some pasta, tomato sauce, olive oil etc etc), a kind gesture which we did not pay for. Awesome bathtub/shower
