5 keys to get through 5 doors/gates & climbing 3 floors! However, that meant we felt very safe & secure & it was totally worth it for the bird's eye views of the ancient theatre!

It was truly an amazing experience to be staying right at the ancient theatre! Being able to simply look out your window & see it all was so special! The location was brilliant, close to everything & we walked to all the sights easily. We were given wine to celebrate our anniversary which was very thoughtful!

I loved this place. It is in a big old apartment block about 5-10 minutes walk from the central square and 20 mins walk from the station. It is right at the top of the building (so if you don't like stairs it isn't for you). The room is light, airy and big with two large windows on either side and beautiful wooden beams on the ceiling. it was very tastefully decorated, the bed was comfortable and there is a shared kitchen with one other room. You can see from the photograph the stupendous view over the amphitheatre.

Great apartment, very impressive view of the Teatro Romano. Mirko was very helpful in gaining access and general communications. Nice room, and common area. Very well positioned property for access to restaurants etc. The bottle of wine in the room was a nice touch.

Entrance from the street is through a shabby courtyard and there are a lot of stairs to reach the premises, which may be difficult for guests who have heavy luggage. We thought it was absolutely worth the effort involved!

Exceptional accommodation with an unrivalled view - where else could you look down on a 2,000 year old Roman amphitheatre directly outside your window? The host greeted us, helped with luggage and explained the mildly complicated access procedure. Our room and bathroom were modern, stylish, spacious, clean and comfortable. A bottle of wine was provided and there was access to a shared, attractive sittingroom/kitchen area. The location is close to the historical area but away from noisy city traffic. Highly recommended provided the stairs are not a problem.

Mirko is flexible with arrival times but I had to wait for him 20 min in front of the apartment as I was a bit early. No fridge inside the room if you want to drink a drop of water I had to leave my room and enter the communal kitchen.

Very tastefully modern apartment in a splendid historic house right at the city centre view view from the room into Roman historic theatre. Mirko was very friendly and attentive, although mostly only accessible by messaging. The apartment has style and taste and is most important quiet.

In all fairness this location was "perfect for a one night stay" so there is nothing I didnt like. Others may be concerned about disability access and require more bells and whistles but I was happy.

Even prior to arriving we were impressed with how Mirko (the host) organised an early check-in for us and organised a takeaway breakfast because of our odd flights. When arriving he was also excellent at explaining the hotel and giving us plenty of recommendations to use in Catania. If I come back to Catania I fully plan on staying with L'AFFACIO

My experience in Catania was truly unforgettable. I had the pleasure of staying for over a week, and it was absolutely amazing. Albright being on the third floor there is no elevator in the building, but this is not a problem for everyone.
