This is a true boutique hotel. Small, each room exquisitely decorated in different colours, the general areas are equally beautiful! The people working there are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant has got a small menu but a bit of everything and the chef is more than willing to change and adapt.

An old world style hotel in the centre of a gorgeous village. The views at the courtyard are quite breathtaking.... The mountains are stunning. A great place to sit, relax, dine and chat with friends and family - either on the long front balcony or in the courtyard areas.

The space was amazing! I had access to the full kitchen in the larger house. The patio and little garden outside the room was a welcoming space to relax and enjoy a coffee each morning. The bed was very soft. It was a peaceful quiet space, just what I needed. Lovely staff and Ron was a welcoming host.

An amazing place. Beautiful grounds, wonderful hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want peace and quiet and to be looked after royally, this is the place to go. The daily game drives were instructive and interesting. You're not going to see the big five, but you will see a variety of antelope, zebra, ostrich and birds of all types. The main project is the protection and nurturing of the endangered geometric tortoises. It was wonderful to see how these creatures are being reared in specially protected areas and then released into the wild. Mariska, the guide, clearly loves her work with them. She is inspirational. And we were lucky enough to see three babies in the wild too. There are beautiful gardens for a short walk and a dam for water activities. The huge pool is fantastic. The staff are friendly, extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay as good as it could be. The food was also plentiful, and very tasty. Can't recommend highly enough. Brilliant.

It cannot get any better than this, we absolutely LOVED everything! From the moment you arrive, you are spoiled. The guest house is stunning with interesting art and decor. The garden and the views are out of this world. There is so much attention to detail and it is clear that everything offered is done with passion. The quality of the coffee and the home-baked cake was some of the best we ever had. We were also most surprised by the delicious canapes served at 17h00, which we enjoyed with a gin & tonic. Life cannot get any better than this :) The bedroom was dreamy and super comfortable. Once again everything supplied was of the best quality and one could not help but feel spoiled. We also enjoyed the homemade fudge surprise waiting in the fridge :) We will definitely return every time we come back to South Africa!

The breakfast was superb. It was a little out of the ordinary with lovely locally grown fruit. Excellent coffee and wonderfully cooked bacon and eggs. Peaceful and very tidy gardens. Hospitality couldnt have been better especially as we were invited to join Vincents birthday celebrations which made for a very happy afternoon.

Riebeek Kasteel is quaint and old world charm. The people we met were helpful and friendly.I would recommend that you lock your valuables in the boot of your car as petty theft c an be an issue. There are enough eateries for eveyones taste. Best thing to do is park your car and meander.

I loved the "feel" of Darling, with their big wide roads. You really felt you were out in the countryside, fresh air & beautiful birdsong....no traffic noise. I found the people very friendly. We went for a wedding on one of the farms & loved every minute of it. We ate at the Marmalade Cat, good food, staff were warm & inviting & the cost was very reasonable. I also bought some beautiful gifts from The Heart of Darling shop, loved wandering around the array of items. We also popped into The Forge, such great ambience, lovely staff. I wanted to go back there but we ran out of time. We have friends in Darling & had a braai with them, so we got to meet some of the locals.... loved it! We'll be back.

Great little town. Rose Cafe was really good. Unfortunately the local farm workers keep the town centre a little busy - borderline chaotic, but that's South African rural towns on a Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Was expected.

The house is beautiful and old and the kitchen has all glass . It makes you feel that you are living in a historical house. They have made the property with this beautiful garden and it is lovely The table is outside under the trees for all your meals There is place to sit in the shade and to sit in the sun. The backyard has a firepit. You can spend days there just eating drinking swimming reading and playing games.

Porterville is a very small town.

Porterville is a very small town. The Villa-Choc-O-Latt is situated on the main road and is easy to find, although somewhat noisy due to passing traffic. The surrounding scenery, canola fields, agriculture and history of the area is lovely and Porterville is a good transitional point to travel further up the West Coast.

Darling is a very nicely situated small town for beach visits and holiday activities, plenty to do and Darling theatre is a super place to visit. Big choice of restaurants and the Smokehouse on the road towards Yzerfontein is a great place. Varied accommodation and a good Spar shop for groceries for 'self caterers' Choice of wine cellars for tasting. It is an area of outstanding beauty.

Piketberg is a well run, clean, town sitting under the Piketberg mountain range. It has a variety of well known Mall shops as well as smaller local shops offering a variety of necessary goods. The locals are friendly and most everyone speaks English. A delightful stay in a delightful town offering expansive views of the surrounding countryside. We ate at several well known nationwide places and to save costs, tended to buy salads from the local Spar. Driving around Piketberg is easy and as there are no traffic lights, load shedding did not affect stopping at the four way stops.
