FAQs about hotels in Yosemite National Park
Nature at its Immaculate Best
UNESCO World Heritage-listed Yosemite National Park is famous for spectacular granite rocks, plunging waterfalls and crystal clear lakes, immortalised in Ansel Adams photographs. Half Dome is its most famous peak and there is a hiking route up if you’ve got the energy.
At its feet is Yosemite Village, home to the only Yosemite hotels inside the park. Nearby is sheer El Capitan, popular with rock climbers, and the Cathedral Rocks where the Bridalveil Fall plummets to the ground. The Tunnel View observation point offers magnificent views of all this.
The Yosemite Falls are the highest in North America, but the park’s real beauty is just being surrounded by immaculate nature. From summer to winter Yosemite has a special draw attracting visitors year after year. It also attracts a wide range of native American wildlife including black bears, mountain beavers and coyotes.
South-west of the park is the forest of giant sequoias at Mariposa Grove. Mariposa itself is by Yosemite Airport and Oakhurst to the south has a good range of accommodation. El Portal has the closest hotels to Yosemite. On the eastern side, June Lake and Mammoth Lakes also have Yosemite hotels near the park available on Booking.com. Wherever you stay, bear in mind that some roads do get closed in case of heavy snow.

- From US$611.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,188 reviewsWe were delighted with this place! The two bedroom villa with balcony suited our fam of four perfectly. Only one bathroom but we managed with our two teenage girls. Balcony with two rocking chairs getting the late afternoon sun after a beautiful long day hiking at the Park was idyllic, the pool, the hot tubs, roasting marshmallows and the smore kits they provide at the fire pits, great drinks at the bar, comfortable and relaxed and generous atmosphere - there are games and books for kids and grownups in the rooms, no tvs and good WiFi which is essential as there is very poor or no phone reception- comfortable beds, spacious, in mid-April it’s got a fair number of families but apparently still pretty calm compared to high season in summer - so there is a nice friendly community feeling but also plenty of privacy - we don’t want to leave!Guest review byBlytheSwitzerland
- From US$399.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 332 reviewsWe drove in and the place was beautiful! I liked how close to nature we were - in fact the staff told us there were bear sightings on the day we arrived. We unfortunately (or fortunately) didn't get to be face to face with a bear, but even if we did, the staff gave us tips to keep safe. We came on a moonless, clear night and saw the milky way! Absolutely amazing. I wish we also stayed a few days longer so we could kayak in the lake right in front of the house.Guest review byBambbySingapore
- From US$250.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 563 reviewsWe booked the Awhahnee house, which is not on the hotel property but a 20 min drive away. This was not clear on booking.com but it did not dissapoint at all. The house is massive, great views of a very big balcony and great location. I don't recommend arriving like we did, very late at night but we came from San Francisco so that was on us. Most of the bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms which were very clean. Would happily visit again!Guest review byJorenBelgium
- From US$219.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 340 reviewsWe were only there for one night because we needed to rest before heading to Yosemite National Park, but I was impressed. I had never slept in a yurt before and found it to be a very comfortable and spacious place. Very good location where I can definitely imagine staying longer than just one night. You will be surrounded there by nature.Guest review byLukášCzech Republic

This was an ideal stopover after flying into Fresno, being just 1hr from the airport, 30 mins from Mariposa Grove and 1.5hr from Yosemite Valley. We were in a motel room and not a cabin. The room and bed were very comfortable for our one night stay.Guest review byDavalibugUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved the raw beauty of the mountains, lakes and geologic features in the area. We didn't bring or rent bikes, but will the next time. An e-bike would be great for riding up to the Mammoth Lakes and touring the whole area. We will be back again, possibly during ski season as well.Guest review bySTEVENUnited States - 10.0

The restaurants were good but we were there on Memorial Day and found out the first day we needed reservations. Our best meals were at 1850 (reservations) and the Pizza Factory (they don't take reservations). Castillo's Mexican was pretty bad. Would not recommend.Guest review byJan - 8.0
The pools are great! The restaurant is AWFUL!
The pools are great! The restaurant is AWFUL! I'd rather eat my shoe than eat at that restaurant! The bar/grill are ok, certainly better than the restaurant, but that is speaking relatively... The store is very nice, offering a good variety of snacks and drinks. The location is very good, just a few miles away from the Yosemite entrance. The staff were friendly and responsive. The rooms were clean, and, thankfully, the AC worked well (it was 109 degrees when we were there!). The bathroom lights turned on automatically whenever someone entered the room, which we didn't like, and would have liked a way to turn that feature off.Guest review byNeckmanUnited States - 10.0

The lovely family at the Berkshire Inn made our three days and nights there just perfect. The rooms are comfy, the breakfast is delicious, and the town has fun restaurants and a grocery store. With Yosemite in driving distance it was perfect for our three days exploring the park.Guest review byAlexanderUnited States - 10.0
Fish camp is pretty remote.
Fish camp is pretty remote. There's a general store nearby that has some essentials but be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you need anything. Recommended to get supplies on your way in from Oakhurst and drive in to Fish Camp. Overall its the perfect spot to be close to Yosemite. For me personally I'd rather be close to the park than close to town.Guest review byTanya - 10.0

Would highly recommend to anybody who loves nature and hiking, and wants to avoid having to drive into Yosemite Valley + find parking everyday. There's a few nice restaurants within Curry Village, including a bar (get the smashed burger), a pizza stall, and a dining hall-style canteen. There's also a small grocery store and outdoor gear store where you can buy anything you forgot to bring on the trip. Overall, a wonderful location that I would definitely stay in again.Guest review byAnton Rahul ObordoSingapore - 10.0
Lee Vining is a cool small town with a vintage vibe.
Lee Vining is a cool small town with a vintage vibe. It has a couple of great casual restaurants, shops with local Yosemite / Eastern Sierra themed merchandise, fishing/hiking gear and a gas station. It is the ultimate gateway stay for a trip into Yosemite National Park.Guest review bySandraUnited States - 8.0
Small town about an hour out of Yosemite.
Small town about an hour out of Yosemite. We didn't leave our cabin except to drive up to Yosemite so we didn't really experience the town. Hadn't taken this route into Yosemite before so was delighted to find the drive from Midpines into the valley to be really beautiful.Guest review byCatherineUnited States - 10.0
Great value for a couples trip to Yosemite state park.
Great value for a couples trip to Yosemite state park. Enjoyable stay at the hotel comfort free parking, fridge, coffee maker and clean spacious rooms. Breakfast started at 7am and we got enough fuel for the rest of the day doing hikes and swimming in the lake. Close location to Bass lake, Mcswain lake aqua sports, tenaye, wawona falls or Yosemite park. So much to explore you definitely need to come with your car and drive around. It’s a beautiful nature and safe clean peaceful area. Romantic, adventurous trip for us a newly we couple:) We are already excited to come again to Oakhurst!Guest review byalazUnited States
