Beautiful, historic buildings with a ton of history to explore. Staying near the River Walk is optimal since we walked from there to many destinations. We loved the light show at the San Fernando Church, La Gloria restaurant in the Pearl District, and Leche del Tigre in Southtown. Market Square reminded us of markets in Mexico and Peru and La Villita also had lots of interesting small stores. New Braunfels is a lovely little German flavored town with lots to see and do. I highly recommend it. There are too many excellent restaurants to mention, but a trip to Greune is definitely worth it and there are several right on the main street like the grist mill. Tubing is highly recommended in summer and there are lots of places to get wine/ beer and music. Hotels in San Antonio were so expensive I stayed here. This Hotel is better than “Motel 6” and similar to “Super 8”. If you have an 18 wheeler there is no room to park. A large U-Haul will have to park in the front. It is possible to get a large U-Haul with a trailer into the front parking lot. However, the front parking lot cannot be seen from any of the rooms. Therefore, I would be concerned about the security of my personal belongings. This hotel is shaped like a square with a pool inside the square. The rooms inside the square face the pool and experience a lot of noise due to pool activity. Boerne, TX definitely ended up going beyond my expectations. Even though it's a small town, it looks super clean, has really good restaurants, local breweries, a beautiful river, also in the surroundings you can find local wineries and vineyards (where you can actually do wine tasting). Schertz is a hidden gem! Nothing wrong with opening Maps and finding something you or your group are interested in! This is a very nice hotel located conveniently to restaurants and the interstate. The facilities are very nice and the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and quiet. Even though we were close to the interstate, we didn't hear any road noise. The TV was located in the middle of the room with the bed on one side and a sofa on the other. The rooms where nice and clean, very modern. The whole hotel in itself was. The rooms where also very spacious. The beds very comfy! But on the other hand..........The pools water was green🤢. It was dirty and the kids could not enjoy it! The staff was meh😑 not friendly nor mean just there..... really no interaction or "care" they did there job and that's it! Upon check in the young man at the counter spoke maybe 3 words to me.. lol gave me the room keys and that was about it. Did not even validate it was me or ask for my debit card and explain the hotel as front desk usually do upon check in. Upon check out, I checked out at 6am. The front desk lady was asleep in the back and took her a while to notice I was standing in the front desk. She said not one word to me and handed me the receipt, when I asked " is that all?" Landa Park is a great place to go for a wonderful park experience. They have a choo-choo train people can ride (sized for kids and smaller people, but I have known larger adults to squeeze into them. in the off season (outside of summer) they are open on the weekends.
