This is a great place to stay if you are planning to dive in Mafia for a view days. The two cosy new bungalows are part of the family run dive center. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is yummy and you can also have the option for dinner. I enjoyed the big pool to relax after great dives and the beach is just a stone throw away. Also the dive center and its extremely helpful staff deserves 5 stars!

The staff and dedication to detail was outstanding. The place is very well taken care of and the food was excellent. We got upgraded to the newly built rooms. The area was quiet and the balcony was overlooking the sea. We felt like we were in paradise!! They made a big effort to make it eco friendly, which we loved. We will definitely go back! The property has a wonderful pool, and large, clean, modern rooms with air conditioning. The staff, especially Hamidu at the front desk were kind and really helped make our stay very comfortable. You could easily walk from the airport to the hotel, but the hotel will happily arrange transport for a fee. We organised our whale shark and full day snorkelling through the hotel and they were both fantastic! The whale shark tour started a 7min Tuktuk ride away, while the snorkelling tour was about half an hour away to the marine park on other side which means you have to pay the marine fee. Worth it. And nice to stay on the side where you don’t need to pay the fee everyday. The activities needed to be paid in cash, but the hotel and meals can be paid with card. There’s an ATM around short walk away. The restaurant is good, a loved the banana milkshake!

We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

What a beautiful place - the rooms are so nice incl. all you need (hot water, A/C, super clean....) the garden is beautiful, and the view from the pool towards the ocean is a dream. Staff is very nice, food and drinks are good, prices reasonable and there are just a few rooms, so it is very calm and relaxing. I would return to there anytime! Note - no beach access!

this is like a jungle treehouse hotel-- so cool! staff was soooo nice! great social atmosphere even though i was like one of the only guests. THREE different beach entrances, AND an on-demand bar with great sunset beach views? Stunning. Food was very yummy. love that they are really trying to promote sustainability and responsible tour operators on mafia island.
