Both the resort beach and village beach was beautiful. The food quality at by the sea restaurant can improve but the set up, live music and courteous staff made up for it. Overall, very romantic. Stayed on the beach and didn't venture in to the town of Chaweng, or the high street, didn't need to. A mix of resorts and hotels on the beach, from 5* to 3*, all offering great locations, food and friendly service. Some were child friendly, and very shallow waters safe for kids or non swimmers. For us this was an expensive stay but worth every cent. There were so many wonderful activities on offer but I just wanted to relax and enjoy the luxuriousness. Not the nicest part of island.
Not the nicest part of island. Geared towards full moon party, laughing gas and fire shows. Quiet when not full moon in a nice way but the town is run down. Haad Rin beach is beautiful though. Saw quite a few families which was nice. Rented our bike from here and explored the island for a few days. I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location. We were planning on 2 nights but changed plans and left after 1 as there is nothing to do on the town but look at shops. One temple to visit if wanted. Wish we hadn’t stayed the one night! Ok for a transfer through to the islands but nothing more in our opinion.
