The receptionist was very helpful, arranging a taxi to and from the pier as well as a motorbike rental for us.
The room was spacious, well-equipped, and quiet at night.
A great place to stay – highly recommended.

PolandI had an amazing time at Baan TaLay hostel and on Koh Mak island. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. It's rare to find such welcoming people, and it made my stay so much more enjoyable. The breakfast they serve is delicious – a perfect start to the day. Plus, they offer scooter rentals, which made exploring Koh Mak Island super convenient. I was also impressed that they have a laundry service, which was a lifesaver during my stay. Koh Mak itself is beautiful, and this hostel is the perfect base to enjoy everything the island has to offer. I loved every minute of my time here and would absolutely come back in the future. Highly recommend!

United KingdomThe location is unreal! It’s totally away from the huddle and bustle, perfect for us and wanting to be in a tranquil escape. It was so peaceful listening to the waves and birds at night and mornings. It’s a small complex so always plenty of deck chairs and places to sit and not many guests. Feels like a prefect private place to have a break. The owners are so passionate about giving you a perfect stay. They collected us from the pier and dropped us off. When we arrived we had a fresh coconut and mango sticky rice. Our room was very large, great working new air con too. Shower was powerful and hot. They went above and beyond more times than we could count we extended our stay once there as it was so perfect. From free coffee, breakfast, free kayaks, they arranged scooters for us and helmets too, advised us places to go. It was just so perfect! We will definitely be back. After all that and more they even gave us a small gift as we left. Thank you

JerseyNice bungalow right on the beach with a minimart and restaurants close by.
The owners are lovely people who will help with anything you need.
If you want to visit a paradise Island and have a beach to yourself this is the place to come.
If you want full moon parties etc you will have to look elsewhere.
I can't think of a better place for a honeymoon or if you just want to chill for a few days.

I Have got the best room of the hotel with the stunning view all over the island. The manager gave me a good discount on it as it was low season and made sure I was happy to everything on the offer. The staff were all friendly and the owner went above and beyond to make sure I was having a good time on the island. She sent me suggestions on where to eat or drink or swim. The interior is the rooms is curated with such a good taste and the garden is extremely well Looked after. There is even a gym, a yoga Shala and a gorgeous pool to relax. I arrived thinking I wouldn’t wanna spent so much time on a such quiet island, but after 2 days I started making plans to actually move there!! Koh Mak is a Thai Gem! The staff is incredibly good. I loved them. Beautiful, large rooms with incredible sea views. The hotel services were excellent. Great service, great breakfast and excellent cuisine. I think this is the first hotel that has free kayak, paddle board rentals. A surprise for me was also the tee/coffee time every afternoon where you could refresh yourself. You can rent a stylish scooter directly at the reception for a fee of 300bth per day, which is great. I have been traveling to Thailand for many years, but this was one of the best stays for me. A small minus during our stay were some ill-mannered noisy guests who did not respect the peace of the night and, for my taste, many families with babies. There are no other resorts nearby so you can enjoy private and wild beach. It is also excelent place for snorkeling and observing under water garden created by Michal -the owner of the resort. Michal and Riam are great hosts - easy-going, helpful, with perfect recommendations what to do and see on the island. The restaurant at the resort is very good - with fresh, like homemade Thai food. There are some shops, little market and local restaurants walking distance from the resort. Other parts of island are easley accesible by motorbike or taxi. All the staff is so kind and helpful, that they just make you feel great from the very beginning to the end of your stay. They pick you up from the ferry and also bring you back. You can also buy your ferry tickets there. The food is absolutely delicious. You have breakfast included in the price and there are a lot of options to choose, always with the fresh fruit. We also had dinner there and all was very tasty. They can rent you a moto, so you can explore the island and the place itself is perfect for relax. Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great.
