It was by far the coziest place we're stayed in, everything from the decor to the people, there's a warmth that's hard to describe in words. In 5 nights we had bad weather and no northern lights until the very last night when we simply WALKED OUTSIDE OUR ROOM AND SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. If you are going to stay in Longyearbyen this is the only hotel to stay in. Great atmosphere and so comfortable. Excellent breakfast and good service from the hotel. I first stayed here 17 years ago and I am still visiting.

i loved the staff, all very friendly and informative. the included breakfast contained waffles, toast and hot/cold beverages that I enjoyed each day. the showers are potentially the best showers in any hostel I've been to, being very spacious with hot water needed in such a cold landscape. lastly I liked the lounge. they had 2, and each had a very comfortable sofa with soft pillows and a TV you could stream shows with. Had amazing time talking to fellow travellers!

The accommodation was with snowshoe dogs, but luckily they didn't bark much. The only problem was that no one greeted us, no one was in the accommodation and no one even picked us up or answered our messages. Since it was unlocked, after an hour of waiting in the bitter cold outside, we finally climbed into the cabin and checked in. During the whole time, no one came, nor has anyone contacted us to this day. It was very strange, not even a welcome note, nothing. I have never experienced accommodation like this before.
