- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 72 reviewsThe hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom
- From US$319.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,568 reviewsThe hotel is in an excellent location. The room is simply amazing, like a two-room apartment, with a balcony. Wonderful view from the balcony to the fjord and snow-capped mountains. Literally 2 minutes walk to the pier with a boat, on which we traveled through the fjords and to the railway station, where we took the train back to Oslo. The town of Flam itself is a delightful place where you want to return again. Great view of the grra and the fjord. The breakfast was excellent too. The overall experience of this trip is just great.Guest review byNatalyaUzbekistan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 632 reviewsIt was really a stunning place with excellent view to the fjord. The cabin we rented was perfect for the four of us, we could sit outside and enjoy the view during our dinner. The receptionist was really kind and helpful, they made delicious pizza for us (because it was a national holiday and everything was closed).Guest review byAnnaNorway

Aurland is a quiet town with a well-stocked grocery and an excellent bakery. It is not a port of call for the huge Sognefjord cruise ships, so it is not overrun by tourists multiple times a day. By car, the town is 20 minutes from Flåm, 35 minutes from Lærdal via the Lærdalstunnelen (the world's longest road tunnel, at almost 25km), and 2.5 hours from Bergen. A refueling station is located just south of town, off the E-16 roundabout. It offers reasonable prices for electric vehicle charging and petrol/diesel fuel. And, it serves the best homemade soup in the area!Guest review byWilliam JenkinsUnited States - 8.0

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing to do etc and yes, it’s the tourists’ first stop in the fjords and everything is overpriced. However, if you explore, you can find things to see and do from there. It’s peaceful and quite beautiful, so definitely go when there isn’t a cruise ship in the tiny port.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I visited Sogndal as a starting point to travel to Urnes Stave Church. The little town was a welcome change from the busy life of the big city such as Bergen. The weather was cloudy and rainy, but a walk on Fjordstien was a lovely pastime.Guest review byV.AtanasovaBulgaria - 10.0

We didn't plan any activities in Balestrand, so for a short stay it was amazing, the town has what you would need though if you have a longer stay, but that would certainly require better planning for activities to visit surrounding areas and Fjords...Guest review byOmyraSweden - 10.0

My husband I ended up in Gudvangen because we could not find a hotel room in Flåm. It turned out that we were really lucky - Gudvangen is really beautiful, and less touristy than Flåm. Our budget hotel was much better than I expected, the local seafood restaurant was great, and the Viking village was a very interesting place to visit.Guest review byJoannaUnited States - 10.0

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Getting around Luster can be terrifying with one way streets and trucks. We enjoyed visiting the Stave Church nearby and Kafe Marifjora. Be aware there is a small grocery store and bakery in Luster. That's it. If you are up for it, the glamping set up looked far superior to the Inn. the setting is perfectly gorgeous. The host has elegant taste and puts that into the details. Otherwise, Luster is not close to anything.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 10.0

Its a place which has lots of amazing things to do, every corner has a picture perfect view. In the beginning you might feel that 2-3 days are enough but I think you at least need 5 days. Good place to stay, we went to flam and Odda. Going and coming back from Odda was little bit hectic because it was raining heavily, the roads are very small, there are some places where there is only one lane, no two vehicles will fit. so be careful at such road. The nature is amazing, flam station has good food stall, I guess all major street foods.Guest review byPritamIndia - 8.0

Flam port is not a little town it's a port with tourist facilities and the famous amazing train trip which we loved. I would recommend people staying in nearby towns like Aurlands which has a little town vibe. I did not visit the proper town of Flam but I'm sure it would also be charming.Guest review byFrancesAustralia
