- From US$445.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 632 reviewsThe room was right on the fjord. It was basic with no running water but cute, quiet, and clean. There are shared showers and toilets, much like a North American campground. There was a small kitchen in the cabin, and there is a communal one with more facilities- including a microwave, which seems rare in Norway campgrounds. There was an amazing sauna with glass walls and a view of the fjord. It looks like a mirrored box, but you can see our from the inaide. You need to book it, but it was a lot of fun getting hot and then jumping into the freezing cold fjord water. The pizza sold at the front desk/cafe was also very tasty. There is no real wifi to speak of, so it you want to be connected bring you own data.Guest review byalexanderCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsThe hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom
- From US$286.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 338 reviewsThe best possible view in Flam! The house has all the facilities for a comfy stay, we couldn't ask for more! Really appreciated having a smart tv and being able to watch movies from our phones/laptops. Well stocked kitchen, a very clean and modern bathroom. Liked tiny details like candles (+a lighter!) and the wooden blanket on the sofa. These things add coziness and make good memories.Guest review byJevgeniaLatvia

Aurland is a quiet town with a well-stocked grocery and an excellent bakery. It is not a port of call for the huge Sognefjord cruise ships, so it is not overrun by tourists multiple times a day. By car, the town is 20 minutes from Flåm, 35 minutes from Lærdal via the Lærdalstunnelen (the world's longest road tunnel, at almost 25km), and 2.5 hours from Bergen. A refueling station is located just south of town, off the E-16 roundabout. It offers reasonable prices for electric vehicle charging and petrol/diesel fuel. And, it serves the best homemade soup in the area!Guest review byWilliam JenkinsUnited States - 8.0

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing to do etc and yes, it’s the tourists’ first stop in the fjords and everything is overpriced. However, if you explore, you can find things to see and do from there. It’s peaceful and quite beautiful, so definitely go when there isn’t a cruise ship in the tiny port.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I visited Sogndal as a starting point to travel to Urnes Stave Church. The little town was a welcome change from the busy life of the big city such as Bergen. The weather was cloudy and rainy, but a walk on Fjordstien was a lovely pastime.Guest review byV.AtanasovaBulgaria - 10.0

We didn't plan any activities in Balestrand, so for a short stay it was amazing, the town has what you would need though if you have a longer stay, but that would certainly require better planning for activities to visit surrounding areas and Fjords...Guest review byOmyraSweden - 10.0

We had booked the Norway in a Nutshell route from Oslo to Bergen and our friends had recommended we break up the journey and stay the night in Gudvangen and I am so glad we did! It was the most beautiful town right in the heart of a fjord - the views were breathtaking and as not many people stayed the night like we did, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We didn't stay long enough to participate in any of the activities offered the next morning (kayaking, hiking or a visit to the viking museum) but I don't think you need to stay any longer than two nights. I highly recommend that you stay at least one night in Gudvangen if you are travelling through itGuest review byAliceAustralia - 10.0

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Getting around Luster can be terrifying with one way streets and trucks. We enjoyed visiting the Stave Church nearby and Kafe Marifjora. Be aware there is a small grocery store and bakery in Luster. That's it. If you are up for it, the glamping set up looked far superior to the Inn. the setting is perfectly gorgeous. The host has elegant taste and puts that into the details. Otherwise, Luster is not close to anything.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 10.0

Its a place which has lots of amazing things to do, every corner has a picture perfect view. In the beginning you might feel that 2-3 days are enough but I think you at least need 5 days. Good place to stay, we went to flam and Odda. Going and coming back from Odda was little bit hectic because it was raining heavily, the roads are very small, there are some places where there is only one lane, no two vehicles will fit. so be careful at such road. The nature is amazing, flam station has good food stall, I guess all major street foods.Guest review byPritamIndia - 8.0

Flam port is not a little town it's a port with tourist facilities and the famous amazing train trip which we loved. I would recommend people staying in nearby towns like Aurlands which has a little town vibe. I did not visit the proper town of Flam but I'm sure it would also be charming.Guest review byFrancesAustralia
