- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 261 reviewsThis hotel feels almost like it’s from a movie or a novel or something else. Takes you almost to a different time, you get such a sense of wonder and adventure just by being there. This amazing feeling of this cozy, historic hotel full of people and incredible hospitality. I was surprised and impressed beyond words. If you’re making a road 51 road trip and looking for a place to stay, this is it. Ignore Beitostølen and come right here Location is amazing, right outside the lake and these beautiful mountains so high up, above the tree line. It’s so isolated and beautiful, feels like another planet. Very short drive to some incredible hikes, or you can do a walk around the lake. Many options. Hotel itself is very historic and is such a beautiful and prominent building, I’ve stayed in a single room and it was small but very cozy and beautifully decorated, there was a sink in the room (bathroom is shared) and even a decently sized table / desk. The room is also heated and the view is magnificent. Parking is free right outside the entrance. All the staff were super friendly, hospitable and friendly. The dinner is available until quite late so you won’t be starving (expensive but worth the experience). Breakfast was goodGuest review byOlehIsrael

I really liked sitting on the terrace and enjoying the atmosphere of the campsite. The cottages are clean and have everything you need. You can also buy essential goods and food at the reception. Parking right next to the cottage, wifi connection very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are no pretensions:) Thank you!Guest review byPiretEstonia

Excellent accommodation in the chalet apartment and hotel rooms. Good tips about where to go and what activities to do. Ideal location within walking distance down to the town and up to the ski jumping, toboganning and cross-country skiing. Our third time here and looking forward to the next trip.Guest review byBarryBelgium
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 679 reviewsThe location of the cabin is amazing, it is inside the park and the hiking trails start directly from there (the famous Besseggen ridge is very close as well). The staff was very helpful in giving us advices for hiking trails and motor roads.Guest review byMarijaSpain

A place we’ll continue to visit after getting married in the Domkirkeodden (cathedral ruins) 10 years ago. It’s peaceful but with plenty to see and do and only 1hr 45 from Oslo. Lake mjøsa is stunning and if you follow the lake trail you’ll find lots to photograph, enjoy the scenery and culture as well (don’t miss the famous Skiblandener which runs during the summer months) There is beaches safe for swimming and lots of great places to eat out. Getting about by foot is easy although some stepper sections but the bus is well connected and easy to use.Guest review byHELENUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The natural beauty of this place is truly beyond explanation...
The natural beauty of this place is truly beyond explanation—breathtaking landscapes and serene views that leave you in awe. However, getting there was quite the challenge. First, we had to take a bus, then a boat, and finally walk the trail. The hike was demanding, especially because much of it was uphill, requiring a lot of effort. Although parts of the trail were easier to manage, the steep uphill sections were tough, and the downhill portions required careful footing. One area that could be improved is the coordination between the boats and buses. There weren’t enough boats, which made the wait long, and the bus schedules didn't seem to align well with the rest of the journey, causing unnecessary delays. Also, the trail itself could use better maintenance. Certain sections were difficult and confusing to navigate, with little signage to guide the way. Enhancing the trail’s upkeep and providing clearer directions would greatly improve the experience, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination’s natural beauty.Guest review byNarendra KumarNorway - 10.0
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords...
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords to Oslo. I stayed at the campsite located on top of the village which offers nice cottages and views of the surrounding mountains. The area offers plenty of hiking trails and 5-6 hours moose and muskOx safaris not far from Dombas starting at 10am. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do the safari since I stayed just for the night and left in the morning. All amenities are located in one spot at the Dombas Senter which includes petrol & many fast charging stations, cafeterias, a couple of restaurants, supermarkets and a huge souvenir shop all at reasonable prices. We ate at Moskusgrillen located on the opposite side. The restaurant offers some traditional food, meats, juicy burgers and large pizzas. We tried the deer burger, ribs and pizza and were all very good. I will definitely go back.Guest review byCass - 10.0

A lovely little town on the shores of Norway's largest lake, Lake Mjøsa. Gjøvik town centre is pleasant with plenty of restaurants - I recommend the Fauno pizza place - and car parking. It's 40 km south of Lillehammer and 170 km north of Oslo and is an ideal stopover on the long drive south to Oslo or Torp airports. Gjøvik has excellent road and rail connections.Guest review bycaspar11United Kingdom - 6.0

Wow! Trysil truly impressed us. We usually switch destinations every year for our annual ski holiday, but we’re definitely coming back to Trysil next time. Aside from the beautiful scenery, we loved the ski lifts and the conditions, which are perfect for all levels of skiing, especially for families. What a fantastic experience!Guest review bySanantineeThailand - 8.0

All the way from the airport to Beitostol was just beautiful. The receptionist was waiting for us and she was fast with the check in. The location is great for solo travellers as well as friends or family. There are attractions for kids as well. The supermarket was just across the road and the ski area was about 10 min walk or 3 min by car. Lots of places to eat around. Although , lots of cabins and trailers , the location was really quiet.Guest review bySimonaUnited Kingdom
