The bed was super comfortable. It was immaculately clean and quiet. The team at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The views from Villa Veertien offer stunning panoramas of the IJssel River and the serene countryside. Watching the shipping traffic glide along the river from the comfort of my room was unique. The wide windows framed the picturesque scenes of the river, with fields stretching peacefully into the distance.

We loved staying in this property, which had extensive grounds. They contacted us in advance and offered us a choice of rooms. The rooms are located in either the main building or in separate buildings. We had a lovely, historic room with a small sitting area. While there were other bedrooms in the building there was no noise transfer. breakfast was exceptional, with a large buffet, offering many choices in the beautiful main dining room. We appreciated being able to dine on site the previous evening.

    A nature escape, in the middle of the forest. The accommodation was clean, just like in the picture. Considering the size, it was well equipped and comfortable. It was quiet and safe for the kids. The check in and out procedures were smooth. The floor heating was nice, especially when all the clothes were wet from de rain. We rented bikes from them and explored Velp. The girls from reception were really helpful.

    We liked everything in this hotel very much - the room, the surroundings, the swimming pool and saunas... When we are in the Netherlands, we always stop in this hotel for one night. Every time, as it is so comforting! Staff at the reception is kind and attentive, rooms spotlessly clean, stylish and spacious. Breakfast is very good. There is nothing I can complain about.

    A very nice hotel, situated in a small forest. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Nice restaurant at the location opened until 11 PM. Very good and varied breakfast. Private parking. Supermarket and train station very close to the hotel. The hotel is very good for older people and for families with kids, I wouldn't recommend it for young people who want to party.

    Apeldoorn is a lovely town with a good selection of quality shops and restaurants. We had a fabulous meal there but our hotel was a bad choice and left us very deflated and unsatisfied. I would visit Apeldoorn and Zeist again though as they were very nice

    Perfect place, etc. BUT - there was no soap in the bathroom, only 1 bag of tea + 1 bag of coffeee four 4 days stay, AND MAINLY, why do you provide only one set of keys 4 to gentlemans with separate beds?

This tranquil town, with its traditional Dutch architecture and lush green surroundings, provided an authentic and serene Dutch experience. Putten's intimate size and welcoming atmosphere made navigating the town a breeze. With friendly locals always ready to help, we never felt like strangers. The town's quaint shops and restaurants added a unique, rustic charm to our visit, offering a delightful array of local goods and cuisine. The real treasure of Putten, though, lies in its natural beauty. The town is surrounded by lush forests, serene farmlands, and velvety pastures that provided a refreshing break from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether we were exploring the beautiful trails or simply enjoying the views, the stunning landscapes never ceased to impress. One of the highlights of our trip was the city bikes provided at our chalet. They allowed us to explore Putten and its surroundings in a fun and environmentally friendly way. This gave us a new perspective on the town and its scenic surroundings, making our stay even more memorable. In terms of history and culture, Putten didn't disappoint. The Old Church in the center of the town is a must-visit. Its beautiful architecture and serene ambiance made for a worthwhile experience. The town's history, particularly its WWII heritage, added a significant depth to our visit, evoking a sense of reverence and appreciation.

    The property is very near the lake, so if you’re into fishing, Keet is your man - he has a wealth of knowledge about fishing in the area and is willing to freely share it with you. You are also within and easy bicycle ride to town so shopping is nearby. Ingrid has some lovely homemade jams for sale too - good on warm toast!!

    The historic centre was well worth visiting and taking time...

    The historic centre was well worth visiting and taking time to explore the city. There are plenty of coffee houses to enjoy although in the evening, a number of establishments were closed through staffing shortages. There were sufficient to enable a different restaurant each night. I thought that the price was expensive but normal for the Netherlands. Not a cheap location.

    Harderwijk was surprising.

    Harderwijk was surprising. I hadn't visited the city for decades so I was pleasantly surprised of the transformation of the small lakeside town. The waterside is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. The food choices are plentiful and there are enough terraces to chose from. If you like water, take a guided tour through the canals and lake, like the one from the windmill. We visited in september and the city was still lively partly because of the wonderful weather. Go visit Harderwijk's city center and enjoy the scenery!

    For me it was worth visitting Nijmegen because I was going...

    For me it was worth visitting Nijmegen because I was going to meet with friends there. However, I was impressed by the Vierdaagsefeest. It ended up being very fun and the city is quite nice and cozy. So yeah, I had an amazing time in Nijmegen, but maybe if you don't have acquaintances there it's not a must-visit city.

    I had visited Arnhem over 40 years ago and remember our guide bringing us to the famous John Frost Bridge. It's a beautiful city with lots of bars and restaurants. I particularly liked Sonsbeek Park with the White Villa. I also got the train to Den Haag and visited the Mauritshuis Museum to see Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring.
