- From US$288.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 311 reviewsThis was our third visit to Shametu and it did not disappoint! We have camped before in the fantastic campsites but this time opted for a tented chalet on the river. Beautiful spacious accommodation with the HUGE bonus of zircon. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was very good. Great choice of wines too! We took one of our breakfasts on the river at a small extra charge. Well worth it! Tranquil with sightings of hippo, crocodile and a myriad of birds all pointed out to us by our excellent guide.Guest review byJan HaraldNorway

Camp is located on Kwando River bank, bungalows are comfortable, spacious and equipped with kichenette. Bar and dining room are overlooking on the river channels, sunsets are simply stunning! Veronica and Hennie are exceprional hosts, they also offer wonderful boat tours with great local guides. Food is delicious. I hope we come back and stay longer!Guest review byAleksandraPoland

Kongola itself is quite small.
Kongola itself is quite small. However, river cruises are on offer, with fantastic animal and bird sightings, as well as magnificent sunsets on the Kwando river. Another advantage is the Mudumu National Park, with an abundance of wildlife and birds,Guest review byLouiseAustralia
