The pearl that reaches out from the ancient Maldivian sea to bring its energy to the edge of the world. No panic, no worries from the moment you land in Male. They have their own people there, which is easy to find - they are wearing Ecoboo T-shirts. And we are waiting for you. Once you land, you are taken care of... Recommended for people who travel to Maldives for the first time in their arrangement. Breakfast self-service options include American breakfast, Continental breakfast, Oatmeal, Sausage, Bacon, Cereal, French toast, Hash browns, various omelets, juice, water (lemon), coffee, tea, hot milk, yogurt, and fresh fruits (watermelon, papaya, orange, apples). Dinner was the same variety of foods from around the world. The dinner was the same. Fresh fruits are always available, as are a variety of pastries (even at breakfast). The location is on the beach, no extra coverage is needed, fresh beach towels every day, fresh bedsheets, towels are impeccably clean, and the staff is exceptionally kind ( they do everything one needs even if that's not their job). The locals are different from other atolls, more tolerable and understanding for tourists than in any atol I've been to. Water stripped: the places deep enough to swim - white sand and the coral reef for snorkeling. Convenient for small children, with plenty of natural shade and enough sunbeds. The beach is long and extensive. The stores are a 1-minute walk from the hotel (please note that it is polite for you to cover your skin while walking into the center, as is customary on all atolls).

A hair-raising speedboat trip from Male, to be greeted by Rafeau on the quayside, and a 20-yard walk to the residence. Food great - simple breakfast, but just what we wanted, and evening meals demonstrating the variety of local seafood. There are 'Western' alternatives but for us the fish was always first choice, apart from a memorable curry feast provded by Dilantha, the accomplished Sri Lankan chef. Other Sri Lankan staff including Fahar and Pradeep (the only names we could remember, but all staff were excellent) looked after us so well.

A lovely place to stay during our time at Fulidhoo. We were picked up from the staff at the jetty and had a welcome drink on arrival. The room was spacious with a private balcony and a small clothesline. The bed was comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and bedding and towels (beach and bath) were changed after 2 days. There was access to coffee/tea and bottled water all day. The staff were always very friendly and were never too far away if we needed to ask a question. We were able to organise an excursion to swim with dolphins, turtles and coral garden for $55USD pp. There was free access to snorkelling equipment and beach toys. Complimentary Maldivian breakfast was great! Lunch and dinner are also available if ordered ahead and was pretty good. The island is small (only 700m x 200m) and Cowry Inn was very close to the bikini beach. However all beaches were walking distance. There are restaurants, souvenir shops and convenience stores located close by. The mosque is close by and the call to prayer is easily heard from the accomodation, however this wasn’t too disturbing and was part of the expected experience of staying on a local island. We arranged a public ferry $4USD pp (only on certain days of the week) to and from Male, but the motel also offered to arrange a speedboat for us for $40USD pp which run twice daily. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and felt like we were part of the Cowry Inn family.

This place is at the top of my list! I loved the rooms—everything is new and beautifully done. The AC works perfectly, the WiFi is fast and reliable, and the staff is absolutely superb. The island itself is charming, the smallest in the Maldives, with a breathtaking beach. I was lucky enough to witness baby sea turtles hatching—an unforgettable experience! If you're looking for a true escape, totally away from the chaos of big cities, this is a little piece of heaven.

We had a great stay at Atoll Retreat (5 adults + 1 toddler in 3 different rooms). The staff were very friendly and helped us organising island transfers. The hotel is very nice, modern, clean and new. 2 of our rooms had ocean view. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were delicious and great variety of options. We received complimentary stingray feeding and loved the experience. The location is great as it is a few steps from the main pier, but also close to the bikini beach and restaurants. The staff went above and beyond. I highly recommend staying here!

If there was a higher score we would give it. The best hotel in the Maldives and we have been to many hotels. Super comfortable beds, excellent Wi-Fi, everything is clean and new. Thanks to the amazing staff, especially Ali and Moosa who took such good care of us every day, we extended our stay here for six days. We just couldn't leave. The hotel is located right on a perfect beach, outstanding snorkeling! The food is super delicious, the locals are amazing, it is highly recommended to take a tour with the wonderful Hassan. From the arrival when you’re welcomed to the lounge everything was great! The lounge itself is comfortable and with quality food, anyone landing after a long trip will find some relaxation there while waiting for the seaplane transfer (which is managed by TMA not the resort directly, sometimes you have to wait a bit to get the plane), lounge has also space and playground for children to make them comfortable and relax parents. The island is a true pearl, very well maintained and with good reef and beaches. You’re welcomed by an ambassador which will support any request during your stay, I take the opportunity to thank mine, Rilwan, for the hospitality and assistance. All your stay and activities can be managed with an application on your smartphone. You can eat at buffet or you can book Rome restaurant (Italian) or beach grill. Both have great food choices and great view to relax your eyes and mind while di in and drinking! Buffet’s food is good as well and for breakfast you have a rich offering. All service is awesome and everyone tries to be helpful. My room was as expected, spectacular view over the lagoon and the sunset. Thanks to the nice Alamin for taking care of the room with respect. The bathtub facing the open ocean is an amazing experience. The reef is beautiful in the east/north side of the island with many fishes and corals. And you’ll meet the usual reef sharks which are so nice. Also some stingrays hangs around. Overall, a great place within the unique context of a Maldivian getaway.

We had an unforgettable 10-day stay at this beautiful resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and taken care of. The staff truly made our experience exceptional – attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond. The buffet offered a very wide selection, so there was always something to enjoy, with a few dishes that stood out as especially delicious. The themed nights, repeating weekly, added variety and ensured that we never felt like eating the same thing twice in a week. We want to give special thanks to Terow and Laila, who consistently provided outstanding service with such attention and kindness. Mamun and Rohit went the extra mile for us, even preparing special meals tailored to our wishes, which made our stay feel truly unique. Meeting Azee, who has been dedicated to the hotel for 26 years, was inspiring – his passion and commitment are remarkable. Shadhoon gave us an incredible insight into the underwater world and shared fascinating conversations, while Sumith helped us explore the full range of the resort’s offerings, crafted an amazing activities program, and made sure all our wishes were fulfilled. Over these 10 days, we grew very fond of everyone and saying goodbye was truly difficult. This trip will remain a very special memory for us, largely thanks to the warmth, professionalism, and heart of the entire team.

The stay at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef was wonderful! We had a deluxe bungalow that had direct access to the coral reef (entrance number 2 if I remember correctly) and it was by far the best place for diving on the island. The marine life here is abundant. Our room was cleaned twice a day and was spotlessly clean. Our host Boni was very friendly. We loved the food and special praise goes to chef Chaminda who prepared something extra gluten-free for me every breakfast and dinner (I have celiac disease) and brought me Sri Lankan specialties. The food was varied during dinner (it gets repetitive for me when you are here for more than a week), and for breakfast it is all the same. The pool was great - very clean and modern. Thanks to everyone who made our stay unforgettable: ladies Isabella, Juri and Asmita (our older son loved them so much), Lahifaan who was always available and who always made our little baby happy and of course Boni and Chaminda.

This island is one of the most beautiful places we've even been to. The marine life outside the villas is just stunning - make sure to explore the reef further on! Sharks, turtles and ray sightings were a daily occurence. We also got to see the dolphins up close several times which was such a treat! The staff was incredibly nice and attentive and the food was amazing everywhere we went. We loved the french Falhumaa restaurant the best. We went in July and were fortunate to only have one rainy day during our week-long stay. During the off-season, we felt like we had the resort to ourselves and would absolutely go again. Can't recommend enough!

The water villa was really an exceptional treat. It can feel a bit outdated in some aspects but it's part of the charm. I was on a half board package, so no buffet for lunch but breakfast and dinner were more than enough. Beware though, you have to go to all inclusive to have drinks other than water included (which makes sense and is totally normal, you get what you paid for and add on top if you want more).

I enjoyed pretty much everything. It was a super place to go for a one week holiday. If you are on a budget, using the local ferry's are a big save in regards to travel and make Island hopping do able. They are 3 time the length of time, at 1 tenth of the price of a speedboat. We still enjoyed sitting out front and watching the dolphins swim with the boat. The trip back was empty and we chatted to the crew. (30 min speedboat vs 1h30 Ferry) The Ferry goes ever 2 days so we did the Maafushi to Fulidhoo, slept 2 nights then got onto it again from Thinadhoo. Two beautiful Islands.

Lovely island that can be walked around in 20-30 mins.

Lovely island that can be walked around in 20-30 mins. Great sandy beaches, beautiful crystal clear waters, plenty of sea life (fish, rays, turtles, reef sharks etc) that all can be observed from the beach or from your over-water bungalow. One side of the island looks out to open sea and the other side of the islands looks towards neighboring islands in the same atoll. The walk from the room to the reception area or the restaurant or the dive shop are all 5-10 mins (but some rooms are much closer to the facilities such as the beach bungalows). Our room was 501 which was one of the Pool Suites. There are 4 pool suites in total. Room 501 has access to the snorkeling reef and at low tide you can enjoy your own private swimming pool. The staff said that Room 501 was the best of the Pool Suites so ask for this room specifically. The restaurant has an amazing selection of food from many different cultures (Indian, Sri Lankan, Maldives, Japanese, Korean, western cuisine...) and always an abundance of fresh produce, fruits, salads. If you take up the All Inclusive dining package then all meals and drinks - even cocktails by the pool - are included. Also included the mini bar in your room however this is only restocked daily. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly and always willing to help. The room was cleaned daily and the pool was cleaned every 2nd day. What I really appreciated was the pool cleaner asking me if I wanted to add chlorine to the pool. I opted to NOT add chlorine as the pool water flows over the infinity edge into the reef. Having the pool vacuumed every 2nd day was also not necessary but the staff were happy to assist and wanted to make sure you had a great stay. We visited Velifushi in April 2024 which was lovely weather around 32 Deg C. We had a few brief storms that lasted no more than 10 mins during the early hours of the morning but the daytimes were great weather. Highly recommend Velifushi to you.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left they made us feel so welcome and so special. Everyone in the team just wanted to ensure that we had the best time. From the captain/boss Ahmed, to John the host, to Arbi and the waiters, the chef and through to all the guys on the boat. We got to know them all and felt like part of a family. I couldn’t recommend it enough and if we could afford to, we’d go back next week! If you want the bustle of a big resort, then maybe this is not for you, but if you want to be somewhere that celebrates the beauty of nature and all that the Maldives has to offer, with people who love to show that to you, then this is the place for you. We felt like we knew the whole team by the end, they were all so genuine and thoughtful and caring. We’ve seldom had such personal attentive service and we’ve stayed in many places around the world, and they made our 25th anniversary such a special evening. If you want beauty, nature, simplicity, comfort, good food, great service and fantastic adventures with amazing attention to detail then just book Thari Fushi. We miss you all!

I loved everything! It was amazing! The people, the view, the quiet island, the snorkeling with sharks and rays… 😍 Just the food, sometimes a little expensive for a simple salad or pasta (but still very affordable), and the bed a little hard (but we still slept very well!).

You can have a good snorkeling and beach experience here.

You can have a good snorkeling and beach experience here. The islanders far outnumber the tourists. The island is generally quiet and clean but it does have a lot of modern infrastructure in a small area. We didn’t dive but there is a local dive shop. We also saw several live aboards anchored nearby so the diving must be good.

Beautiful resort connected to two islands with a 1 km wooden bridge on top of the sea. The water pool Villa was amazing and quiet. The sky at night had all the starts in view. The personnel of the hotel friendly and attentive, would say “hello” and “good morning” to everyone. There are golf buggies to take you from all the places of the islands you are (waiting time was 5 to 15 min max). They offered us bicycles to move around and the vegetation in the islands was lash and fantastic. The only thing I would suggest is more options of food items at the buffet, lunch/dinner. If I compare the buffet lunch/dinners at the Residence Zanzibar… it has a big difference.

    Perfect place for total relaxation.

Perfect place for total relaxation. Maybe a few more activities for the ‘oldies’ would be good. We loved the bingo and Kahootz but the party music wasn’t our style. Enjoyed the saxophone player and the Irish singer. During the day maybe trivia or games?
