We recently had the pleasure of staying at KOA and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that immediately made us feel at home. The staff at this hotel truly set it apart. The Shanti Maurice exceeded all our expectations. The property is gorgeous and pristine. That said, it's the staff here who really make this place a dream vacay. We booked a suite and were upgraded to a private villa, which meant a butler was assigned to take care of our every need. Amal was amazing. Nothing was too much or too little for him to organise. He, like everyone else at the resort, made us feel like we were the only ones there. The kids club is next level, with a varied range of activities to suit the preferences of all the little people.. Even when there were no other kids there, the ladies at the kids club arranged and customised activities just for her. A special mention goes to Sheila and her gracious staff in the Stars restaurant and to Krishna (guest driver) who made every excursion and transfer a pleasure, and Brice, the GM, who took genuine interest in connecting with guests. We can't wait to go back!

The appartement/studio is completely new and is situated in the north of La Gaulette. This is the perfect spot for a lot of advetures in the south of Mauritius. The appartement owner was available whenever we needed something. It was super clean, spacious, and we would definitely book again. The kitchen is fully equipped so its easy to cook yourself. Air conditioning is good.

    Everything was superlative. Top notch. You are welcomed by personal concierge, everything is explained. Instantly feel like royalty. Everybody smiles, everybody is ready to help you. The resort is in a beautiful garden with all the exotic trees full of singing birds. Spacious rooms. Wonderful view. Rooms are cleaned twice a day (thats maybe a bit too much, but it tells you about how much they care). We saw manager every morning greet his staff with smile and respect but also check if everything is perfect. Lots of activities for kids and adults, many water sports. And not to mention fantastic range of choice in couple of restaurants. The food was like in a fancy restaurant. We wanted to travel around, but there was so much to discover in the resort itself, we didnt have time for it. The resort was full but you still feel like there is enough privacy for yourself.

The food options were exceptional and diverse, accompanied by kind and attentive service. The beach strip was spacious and sprawling, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the picturesque views. It was a relief to have reliable WiFi access throughout the property, making it easy to stay connected. It's clear that LUX* hotel is one of the top hotels in Mauritius. In addition, Garish from the nurse's room provided exceptional service when we were in need, even saving our vacation. Overall, our stay at the LUX* hotel was truly outstanding.

    We stayed for 9 nights All inclusive end of December 2024. It was really perfect, from the beginning to the end. The beach is awesome, beach towels are provided - but only bath in the sea when you have sea shoes. There are lots of starfish. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner were tasty. The restaurant Playa at the beach is highly recommended (included in All inclusive) Our beach room was spacious and useful designed. The app from the hotel is useful too. Despite our early arrival, the rooms were already ready for us - we did not need to wait.

    Well organized service, good communication and quick response to any questions. The villas themselves really look better than the pictures. There is all the necessary equipment for both cooking and other needs. I don't know what else you could want. The service staff is polite and helpful. In short, everything is 10 points. Excellent place for golf lovers. I definitely will be back.

    The hosts took really good care of us. Ornella contacted me some days before arrival as a cyclone was about to approach and she gave us some good advice on what to do and to arrive early. They were really nice and gave us good instructions on where to go and what to do the first day. Anytime we had an issue they were always there for us as they lived next door.

    The most perfect surroundings with the breath taking Le Morne at the back. Nice to be able to stay at such an exclusive area at a reasonable price. The staff was very concerned to make the stay at the place and island in general a pleasant experience. They arranged for guided tours and all are friendly and speak both English as the expected French.

    Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is...

    Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

    the beach was lovely although a smokers & non smokers area is a nice option i would had prefered ... as i am a non smoker... the cleanliness and location was wonderful & gorgeous ! food options for buffet was good however the room service options ought to have more choice for dietry and enjoyment! entertainment was good and fun... also the water sports option was ideal ! kind welcoming staff who were sweet hosts! thankyou!

    It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

    this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

    Excellent location in an area that boasts greenery and nature at its best. Tamassa Bel Ombre is located next to two golf courses, a natural reserve and barely minutes away from other landmarks in Mauritius (south). Roads are safe - so it's easy to drive around but if you are after a complete relaxing holiday, venturing out of Tamassa is purely an extra then. The resort is fully equipped and offers a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, para-kiting in a well protected and clean bay.

    La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

    There are a few beautiful sights to visit, the area is very green and full of trees and wildlife. The waterfalls, hills and seven colored soils are worth seeing. The Zoo is nice, but you have to pay to see the lions and a few other areas are additional cost over the entrance ticket you pay. There are many small restaurants to eat at where you can try the local cuisine. It is best to hire a car and drive around yourself or to get a taxi from your hotel. with the help of google maps it is very easy to get around. The roads are narrow and not many street lights so you have too be careful.

    Not a good hotel for winter visits. Best rooms face South so no sun until 4pm. Hotel was about 20% occupancy resulting in no "buzz", facilities open part time and food on buffet not consumed quickly enough to be fresh.

    I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great...

    I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great although we didn't use it. We stayed for 3 nights and that was enough for us to break the city routine of our everyday life. Krishna from the concierge organised a fun day out to Chamarelle where we saw the 7 sand earth, giant turtles and the magnificent waterfall. We ended the day at Curious Corner which the kids (and I loved).
