- From US$250.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 216 reviewsWe were greeted immediately with umbrellas and a smiley guest executive when we arrived at the hotel car park. We had a nice welcome drink and they made sure to give us a good introduction of the hotel facilities before we headed to our room. The receptionists were always ready to greet us with our keys when we arrived back at the hotel from touring the area. They have a beautifully maintained onsen (indoor and outdoor) with super silky waters that feel great on the skin. The rooms are quite spacious as well and they provide us these beautifully printed cookies of Arita porcelain designs in the room as well as green tea leaves as part of their service. We appreciated the nice hygiene amenities in the bathroom. The hotel is on a pretty steep hill so it is hidden away fr the Main Street but there are many eateries and tea shops within walking distance. Bonus - they are partnered with another nearby onsen hotel and we could use their onsen facilities for free as guests. We had a great time staying there.Guest review byAbigailSingapore
- From US$177.62 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 331 reviewsIt was an exceptional stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the use of the space, combining both modern and traditional aesthetics. There were several little nooks that added surprise as we slowly discovered them at our own pace. We were delighted with the showcase of local ceramics and tea, and the welcome tea started us on our little tea journey, the start of a relaxing two days spent here. There was plenty of seating all around the ryokan, to relax, to wait, to medidate, to just stare into nature… A big thank you to all the staff we met, from the station pick up to the small conversations at breakfast. Looking forward to visit again at a different season to experience it anew.Guest review byRuthSingapore
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 364 reviewsI loved the location. The view from the open-air bath is almost as good as from Mount Inasayama. The hotel is about 3 km from Nagasaki Station, but we took a taxi, which was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in Nagasaki.Guest review byJoannaPoland

Fukuoka City offers a lot for travellers who like the city feel, but not necessarily how crowded Tokyo is. There’s many cultural sites within Fukuoka and surrounds if that’s what you like as well. I love Fukuoka. There’s many other part of Kyushu that Fukuoka offers easy access to as well.Guest review byNoel CJ EvansAustralia - 10.0

Yuhoen Fruit Farm to enjoy fruit picking and unlimited serving of fruits picked within an hour. There were Hosui pears, Kyoho and Fuji Minori grapes. Great experience! Kumamoto castle is a must visit as well as to savour horse sashimi.Guest review byEricSingapore - 10.0

Beppu was one of the highlights of our trip. We flew in and out of Fukuoka and while its nothing compared to other major Japanese cities we have visited, Beppu provided us with really good onsens and very good Oita food which we truly miss til this day!Guest review byBTSingapore - 10.0

Kagoshima in winter - Feb - can be very cold. Food here is great and the Satsuma Japanese wonderful. Black is a lucky color in Kagoshima thus the my son's Rebnise basketball team wears black at home games. Taxis are always available at stations and it is not far from anywhere. A day trip to Ibuski's sand baths is recommended - on fine days. Plenty of public natural mineral water onsens are available. Shiroyama's has a fantastic view .The ferry ride and Rainbow Onsen on Sakurajima is great.Guest review byJohn CantorAustralia - 6.0

Enjoyed the countryside scenery and driving without toll ways made it more interesting but longer. Get use to paid parking everywhere which is not expensive and ensure you have data roaming for gps. Driving is a breeze, 40klm speed limit max 80klm on expressway. Locals are courteous drivers and stickers for road rules. Google translate for help at petrol stations and elsewhere is ideal.Guest review byDavyAustralia - 10.0

Morning walk along the waterway when there were not many tourists was peaceful and enjoyable. The are lots of small shops on the main street, but might be too crowded to enjoy. The shops close around 5pm. My favorite eating place was Pizzeria Kunugi no Oka; good food and good view of the Yufu city.Guest review byMukPThailand - 6.0
Not a great deal to do or see in Oita.
Not a great deal to do or see in Oita. The castle ruins holds some interest. A very friendly man in a temporary office in the car park helpfully explained more about the castle and it's moats. Could use Oita as a base for visiting Beppu if you can't get accommodation there By train it's only 280 yen and 12 minutes away.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I'd strongly recommend taking the time to ensure that the accommodation you're booking is close enough to any specific areas you wish to visit. Saga itself, is simply a township without too many attractions other than a museum, a castle and a couple of short, pretty walks. If you want to see something further afield, such as Arita or Imari (located in the Saga region), be prepared for quite a bit of travel. Even places to stay near these areas are several kilometers away.Guest review byCarolyneAustralia
