Really liked downshifting from Tokyo and spending 2 nights in Kanazawa--a third might have even been right. The gardens, architecture, restaurants. Would definitely recommend to anyone who asked where to stop during a Japan vacation.Guest review bySNDUnited States - 10.0
People there are very helpful and courteous.
People there are very helpful and courteous. It is very clean, and uncongested. Quiet and peaceful, unlike the other cities. I highkt recommend pairing Toyama and Tetayama, i.e. 3 and 2 nights respectively . Simply amazing.Guest review byWangSingapore - 10.0

It's a lot quieter than Tokyo or Osaka in comparison, but because of this felt very peaceful and I had a wonderful time exploring the town. The dinosaurs were very cute! Unfortunately I didn't manage to stay long enough for my liking, but definitely look forward to returning in the future.Guest review byNatalieSingapore - 10.0

We picked Tsuruga because it was only 2.5 hours drive from Chubu International Airport. It was perfect as a base to explore the areas around. Tsuruga is a seaside town so there were plenty of seafood if you are a sashimi and sushi fan.Guest review byNoraHong Kong - 10.0

The hotel was fantastic, evening and more than my team expected! We loved the traditional clothing and meals, especially dinner. The breakfast for most Americans is a little rough. The hot springs were EPIC and the swimming was just right. Thank youGuest review byCoryGMAIL - 10.0

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.Guest review bymouyiarisUnited States - 8.0

It was a wonderful experience for me since this is my first time to snow mountain , the view at Tateyama Kogen Hotel was really stunning . When i checked in it was very foggy and the next morning i just couldn't believe my eyes the ALPS peak is just in front of my room window . It was so close to me . It's really beautiful with the sunrise . Since i went there early 1st May , i can only see the snow wall corridor and the beauty of Kurobe dam . The view is really pretty. oh if you are planning to drive to Ogizawa , don't worry there are plenty of car park but make sure you arrive early . We park our car at Shinano Omachi and took a bus there as afraid can't find parking due to Golden week holiday , I could have drive up there !Guest review bySweeMalaysia - 10.0

Having spent 10 days in Tokyo I was thrilled to arrive in Kanazawa (via bullet train) and notice straight away how it was "quiet"...less people on the streets, less humid (nice relief) and overall the city operated at a slower pace - a nice reprieve. Also, a great city to walk around - all of the tourist attractions, I think, are within a few miles so no need for buses / taxi's etc. I would highly recommend for a 2 day visit - not sure if more is required to hit the main tourist sites.Guest review byYvonneIreland - 6.0

I booked 2 twin rooms for my stay on 27-29 Nov. 1 twin room for 2 persons. hence 2 twin rooms for 4 persons. however, when i checked in, i was told that i booked a twin room for 1 person and needed to top up for extra guest. When i told the staff that i paid for 2 twin rooms for 4 persons, I was asked to provide proof. I'm surprised that the hotel does not have record that i booked 2 twin rooms for 4 persons as the hotel sent me email to confirm that i booked 2 twin rooms for 4 persons. when i finally found the email as proof and showed the hotel staff, the staff then asked me if i booked for adults or children. I was really shocked and frustrated that after providing proof that i booked for 4 persons, then i have to provide proof that i booked for adults and not children. When i said that when booking the rooms, i clicked the twin room for 2 persons which did not indicate adults or children. The staff then asked me to wait and walked away. I waited for quite some time and the staff didn't get back to me. So i went to the front desk and asked the staff what's happening. then she said everything is ok now. This is really bad service. i didn't note the name of the 2 staff who attended to me.Guest review byireneSingapore - 10.0

We enjoyed the parts of town we were able to experience during our short stay. The train station and surrounding area is dinosaur themed. It's really quite cool and very unique. During our stay we visited the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum which our family (kids are aged 14 & 11) enjoyed. The train (and bus) trip to the museum was scenic and very pleasant. Due to the size of Fukui it was easy to get around. There are plenty of places to eat and shop (again not too far from the train station). I wish we could've stayed a little longer.Guest review byhelena
