Perfectly situated at the end of the island, the Hotel Grande Italia is a little gem. It is well maintained and staff are all superb! Richardo at reception was such a nice and genuine person! Air conditioning worked very well in the hot and humid weather. Breakfast was very good and had all you would want- except barista coffee (machine only). All in all a great stay!

In the centre of the new town with a lot of places that you can leave your car! Seems like a very new building and the room was big and clean! The stuff was so polite and they were speaking English! There is a woman at the hotel buffet (during breakfast) ,that helps you with your food and coffee and her smile and energy can make your day! definitely choose this one for your visit to Chioggia

    A wonderful range of experiences among the islands of Venice-Lido. We loved Alberoni beach and the local coffee shop and restaurants on the Lido. Public transport was great. Incredible history and architecture, food and people.

    I love Sottomarina for its holiday atmosphere, beautiful...

    I love Sottomarina for its holiday atmosphere, beautiful beaches, stunning views from the breakwaters, and lively nightlife. But what makes it truly special is its connection with Chioggia, where you can experience so much history and feel almost like in Venice.

    Nice little town with plenty of restaurants and bars. You can take ferries to nearby islands and venice from the port. Sottomarina beach is not far away and is huge with all the facilities you could want

    First thing: beware of street vendors, they are very annoying with their tricks 😊 In the season, Rosolina mare can offer a lot of fun (amusement park, street bars, casino and more). I recommend visiting markets (you can feel that market culture there). I would recommend a trip to the lookout tower and to the Botanic Garden (wild sea and more). And btw, they've got very good Icecream in Italy 😍

    There's not much to do there.

    There's not much to do there. It is closer to Chiogga so if you didn't want a long commute from Venice to Chiogga, then it would be a good idea to spend a night in Pellestrina. Also, a nice way to get away from the business of venice.

    A world away from Venice proper, with cars, beaches and light pedestrian traffic. The usual tourist hotspots are only a ten minute ferry ride away, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Your vaporetto pass can be used on the regular busses

    There is very good bus service starting from Venice aeroport directly to Sottomarina. And good bus service around in the area Padova. Piove di Saco etc.. Very nice clean beaches, not too expensive. Good locations plenty of cheap hotels, good cheap shops, coffee shops, kebabs- pizza places to eat, affordable prices, good food. Really recommend👌

    This is a place I would advice to visit.

    This is a place I would advice to visit. Every time I find something new here, enjoying summer evenings and salt water smell... Fishing boats and sound of the waves... Markets on Thursdays and evening concerts in July at Musica in laguna festival.

    I only come there because of the wonderful nature and the beach. Dining is terrible, and the town is like out of the 70ies. But that doesn't matter, it's rather like the cherry on top. The only thing I don't like there is, as mentioned above, dining. In 8 years I haven't found any good restaurant - and tested them from € to €€€€. They are all the same. They may vary in the freshness of the used ingredients - but they all don't know how to uses spices for good taste. Try to see the free public nature beach, where all Italians enjoy the sea. I never go anywhere else.

    Staying in the Lido was great if you like to get away from...

    Staying in the Lido was great if you like to get away from the touristy hot spots. The Lido was quieter and you have access to beaches for a swim to cool down. Lots of atmosphere in the bars and restaurants. Food was really good too. Plenty of boats top and from Venice itself.
