I have only very good memories of our vacation in that hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for our family. Our sporty boys loved especially to use long old stairs from for going to beach. But where was also quite good bus connection to hotel what I also used. Our rooms were nice and clean and comfortable with wonderful view as promised. Breakfast was also good, many things to choose from. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Stefano, for all his help. And hotels restaurants meals where one the best we ate in Italy. Especially their egg parmigiana... So many thanks from us..

Amalfi Coast highlights

  • Conca Dei Marini

Home to the Emerald Grotto, sea-lovers can snorkel in the crystalline waters, while foodies can savour Sfogliatella, a sweet shell-shaped pastry from the Convent of Santa Rosa.
  • ‘Painted Village’ of Furore

Small but full of character, this stunning hillside town gets its other moniker from the colourful open-air museum of murals lining its bougainvillea-lined streets.
  • Romantic Ravello

While Annunziata Historic Building hosts recitals, Villa Rufolo also delights with spectacular views and concerts in its gorgeous gardens.
  • Handcrafted goods from the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a home to unique artisan products. Positano is known for its linen beachwear, while Maiori is where you can shop for handmade Gladiator leathersandals.
  • Natural caves of Praiano

Set in natural caves, revellers can head to Africana Famous Club and admire the shimmering waters below. Extravagant live performance and lobster dinners are also on offer.
  • The ceramics trail of Vietri sul Mare

While colourful ceramics can be admired up and down the Amalfi Coast, the traditions of the master ceramist are a closely guarded secret in this picturesque coastal town.
  • The fishing village and anchovy paradise of Cetara

Experts at preserving anchovies, trattorias here are known for their fresh homemade pasta with fermented anchovy essence Colatura di Alici, topped with crunchy pumpkin.
  • Lemony pastries at Piazza Cantilena

Sal de Riso Patisserie is perfect for people watching with some chilled lemon mousse, a zesty lemon sorbet, or a generous slice of pear and ricotta cake.
  • Historic Piazza del Duomo

The grand staircase at 9th-century Amalfi Cathedral is a must-see. Sample chocolate-covered orange candy overlooking the bougainvillea terraces and turquoise waters.
  • Sunbathing along the Amalfi Coast

Crystal clear waters and endless stretches of golden sands run from Duoglio Beach in Amalfi to Cavallo Morto Beach in Maiori, while the hidden Laurito Beach near Positano is wonderfully secluded.

FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast

A Feast For the Eyes

Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!

In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.

Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.

High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.

Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

Location is superb on the cliff side. It is midway between Amalfi and Positano. The layout of the hotel is completely different from a conventional hotel with rooms going down the cliff side with an endearingly rustic nature. Eventually, it reaches the beautiful sea and is ideal for swimming. The restaurant area is delightful inside and out and even in late October we were eating outside. The food offered at breakfast is extensive and delicious with an even more extensive in the evening. But what makes the hotel so welcoming is Luigi, Luigi and Luigi (owner, chef and waiter). What a team. Tip: Walk up the steps, 200 m from the hotel, up 2000 steps to the Path of the Gods, along the POTG down 1800 steps and catch bus back to hotel. Simply wonderful.

What an outstanding property, the views from our room where stunning and a perfect definition of relaxation Location is quite good to stay in the property and maybe walk to Praiano. The property offers free night shuttle (golf cart) to and from Praiano-Htl If you have a car (brave of you) it is a prime location to move around the area, although in other places (amalfi or Positano) parking is none existent or extremly hard The breakfast was our strong meal of the day, and service was great

Great base for visiting other villages along the coast.

Great base for visiting other villages along the coast. Pretty town with plenty of small shops for gifts and ceramics. Wide range of restaurants, busy ones on the central square and secluded ones up steps and in alleys - all full of character. Limited suppplies for apartment cooking so we had to eat out for all meals but prices the same as UK. La Perla restaurant made excellent gluten free pizza! Very easy to eat gluten free as most menus clearly marked. Crowded during the day.

I loved Positano, the people, the vibe, the culture and the beauty. I highly recommend going and staying in the heart of it all. I always felt safe and comfortable. I always walked at night and never had an issue. There's lots to see and do. I took in a sunset cruise, such an incredible way to see the coastline. The food is amazing, always fresh ingredients. You feel like family when you sit down to eat. It's an absolutely stunning place. Go if you have a chance.

Maiori is an interesting town on the Amalfi Coast. The beach is big and much more accessible that other towns. The local bus service (Sita) is good except that the buses fill up and you can be left waiting for the next one and hopefully get on it. The Amalfi Coast road is amazing, winding, narrow and so busy with traffic nonstop passing with inches to spare - sometimes buses and cars have to back up to pass on some parts. The Italian bus drivers are extremely skilled - some are nice, but some are extremely mean (and I think hate Tourists)

I booked the Double Room with Sea View for good money but at no value. The room had a window with blinds that were broken and not possible to open, so instead of the sea view I've got the 4 walls closed space (perfect for Amalfi coast vacation!). Old smelly absolutely shaky furniture, cracks on the walls, dirty walls that haven't seen any paint since the building was finished I guess. Even the soap saucer in the bathroom was cracked. Announced breakfast is just stale croissants with jam and lowkey coffee. Worst experience ever, don't recommend anyone.

We loved our time in Ravello so much to see and do in the Amalfi coast, if you are going to drive be mindful of the busy winding roads, we pretty much walked everywhere but buses and taxis are available and Vespa’s can be hired if your up for an adventure.

You definitely need a degree of fitness for getting up and down stairs both to the property and to the beach . However the views are stunning and the location very peaceful . Lots of good places to eat within A short walk . Able to access the path of the gods for walkers .

Minori offers fabulous beaches, views and restaurants, as well as great hikes / walks, all whilst remaining unspoilt and true to it's culture and traditions. It really feels a privelege to be able to stay there and enjoy their lifestyle and beautiful home.

Furore is around 15km from amalfi, sounds close but in reality due to the winding roads it takes around 25 minutes in a car/bus Furore is quite spread out so you need to take that in to account when staying there. Car/moped is the best method of transport followed by the bus, walking is an option but be prepared for many steep hills. This is a perfect base to get into amalfi, but be aware that parking in amalfi itself is challenging and the police/car towing companies are red hot!

Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation. There are plenty of good restaurants and enough markets for everyday needs. The area also offers great historical sites to explore, along with the beautiful Valle delle Ferriere nature park nearby. A convenient bus stop with frequent service makes it easy to get around the area without a car.
